If Spain had actually formed a full-on alliance with Oda Nobunaga, we'd have ended up with a massive Catholic empire stretching from East to West, conquering the whole damn world.
And the world probably would've been a better place for it.

Another day another LARP eh?

Sounds interesting. Expand pls.

Nobunaga wasn’t a Catholic, in fact, he despised organized religion, so that “what if” scenario is basically meaningless.

>In nanshoku literature of the Edo period, it was commonly depicted that Oda and Mori had a sexual relationship that was commonly found in those times
I imagine Nobunaga and the Jesuit missionaries may have found some common ground

Whether or not they could’ve conquered the world is uncertain, but considering Japan was already the largest firearm-owning nation at the time, its greatest military weakness lay in its lack of large-scale shipbuilding technology.
Had Spain lent them galleons through an alliance, it’s easy to imagine Japan becoming an immensely powerful military force.

Oda only allowed Jesuit Missionaries in for guns and silver but hebwas still largely a very Japanese daimyo. Even then much of Japan was pissed off at him for allowing foreigners and quite frankly had he not been assassinated, he would have followed what both Toyotomi and Tokugawa did once in power

That's only true on a per capita militarily basis. But not true vis a vis their neighbors like Ming China. In addition one of the great weaknesses of the Japs is having zero capacity to build artillery pieces whereas their neighbors are swimming in it.

>And the world probably would've been a better place for it.
What makes you say that?
How come you need Japan specifically to expand Catholicism?
Unless you're a turbo-weeb, this idea makes no sense

EL IMPERIO CATOLICO APOSTOLICO DEL JAPON DE LOS HABSBURGO is one of the more common VGHposts by our resident latinx hispanistas

>but considering Japan was already the largest firearm-owning nation at the time,

More firearms per capita are useless if you don't have more gunpowder and lead than your enemies.
