>alphabet was supposedly devised by illiterate levantine slaves toiling in the turquoise mines and not their literate Egyptian supervisors who knew the hieroglyphs and its phonetic characters im not buying this klke we wuzery
>>18053864Who on earth says that? The leading theory is that semitic levantines adopted selected heiroglyphs to represent phonetic sounds in their own language. The proto-Sinaitic script even look like an intermediate between Egyptian heiroglyphs and the Phoenecian alphabet. The ancient Israelites and their neighbours adopted the Phoenecian writing system, nobody claims the jews invented writing.
>>18053898>The leading theory is that semitic levantines adopted selected heiroglyphsThere are a few versions, the first is that Egyptians developed it directly. Phoenician isn't that much older than the oldest Greek and Raetic inscriptions. The man that supposedly develops the first alphabet according to the Greeks isn't even originally from Phoenicia but Turkey.
>>18053864Vinca Script and IVC Scripts are both much older anyway. Very Indo-European ;)
