As i mature as a historian and stop being so eurocentric, I am realising the amazing amount of history within the Indian subcontinent. I live in england and all I had been told about India was from how England civilised the region, no countries existed before england and the textbooks are written to justify the massive transfer of wealth taken from the region. Regardless, my favourite period to read about right now is the resistance against the muslim invasions of India, while europeans jerk off the battle at Tours, some mention there was 5x more muslims at constantinople. Yet we never hear about the literal millions of muslim jihadists that invaded India between 700-1500 AD. all europeans should read on maratha empire.they reconquested almost all of india from muslim rule in similar way to spain had saw in europe. at their prime they where the strongest country in the world as they conquered the mughal empire.
