In 1968 Enoch Powell gave a disgustingly racist speech where he claimed by the year 2000, a full 7 million people in Britain - one in 10 - would be a person of colour.In the 2001 British census, there were 7 million non-white people in Britain, around 11% of the population.

That statistical projection is something I've always found endlessly interesting. There were several official population projections for the year 2000 at the time, created by leading British demographers based on highly complex models, but somehow Powell's back-of-the-envelope calculation was an order of magnitude closer than any of those.
