Why were non-Greek-Roman garments, especially those of the Iranians and Celts (and we know that the Germanic people wore various colors), so colorful and vibrant compared to Hellenistic and Roman garments? Was there a reason for this? Was the use of pants in Roman culture associated with "barbarism," perhaps a similar reason? Greco-Roman clothing is quite different from that of other European peoples, especially Iranians, who paid special attention to this.
