Only serious opinions please. The Allies had over 6 million men. That was a larger invasion force than the one which took part in Operation Barbarossa...

How so?
>>

Wikipedia had a edit war to hide Yamato sinking itself. Even without the invasion, Japan could have built the planned battleships it wanted and actually used them and defeated America at sea.
America got as far as it did because Japan let them win, didn't use its battleships, and didnt use the cannon on the zeroes.
If Japan tried then America would lose because england was helping Japan and in the long term they had China to lean on. America won because Japan didn't use its resources.

Kek, shut the fuck up you retard. Yamato got sunk by US Navy.
>>
>>18068949
Battleships were outdated tech and the imperial navy's refusal to accept that lost them the war lmao.
>>
>>18068949
Why didn't they then?
>>
>>18069271
Because they had no bureaucracy. Japan is a fake country created by the west and their only motive is to be goys. It's like asking why Ukraine always loses.

You are not making any snse.

This, I think the fears over Japanese resistance are a bit overblown. They were on the edge of famine. They were demoralized and tired of fighting. There probably would have been one or two major home island engagements and then the Japanese would have called it quits. How would the Japanese civilians react when American soldiers were raising the flag over the imperial palace.

They were literally creating groups of high school girls to conduct guirella warfare.

They're bugmen, their whole purpose in life is to sacrifice themselves to try and get tired of killing them. They viewed the invasion as an apocalyptic reckoning in which they'll fulfill themselves, because that's exactly what it was going to be - bugs swarming to defend their nest

>bugs swarming to defend their nest
Could they succeed though?
>>
>>18068021
Oh. They would have won. It’s just it would have been horribly bloody and the Japanese hoped that if they killed enough Americans they could get a peace treaty and not a surrender.
>>18070686
From the island hopping campaign where Japanese civilians were encountered they would have fought tooth and nail even if starving.
>>18072158
Other highlights include bamboo spears as a primary armament for civilians and a host of disturbingly innovative suicide weapons.

They literally had fucking SMGs with Bi-pods, and bayonet mounts. They were retarded.

so why didnt have any revolutionary fighting after occupation
>>
>>18075173
emperor told them not to
the one condition the allies gave Japan in their unconditional surrender is that they wouldn't go after the Emperor and his family/court.
in return the Emperor and his family/court told Japan to endure the un endurable and co-operate with the occupation.
also being on the edge of starvation and starting to get more food again didn't hurt
>>
>>18072158
How many would actually fight if not threatened with execution by officers and how many would just desert as soon as possible

>Operation Downfall. Could it really be pulled off by the US army in 1945?

Yes, though it probably would have resulted in the near extinction of the Japanese people.
