Why didn't it work? Could it be done today?

>Why didn't it work?
Why would it work? If someone broke into my house and said that he'll let me live in the living room if i don't call the police i still would report him. There isn't any scenario where they would just peacefully coexist with jewish religious fanatics
>>
>>18073866
>jewish religious fanatics
Secular Jews and seculars larping as relgious Jews is more accurate. The actual relfious company of Israeli society pretty much got choked out.
>>
>>18073866
Partition has usually been a successful solution though. We still use it to solve conflicts.

The problem here is that it looks like a jigsaw, and that the jews were given the best land despite only owning 10% of the land and being 30% of the population.
>>
>>18073823
Look at the map, such disjointed border shapes are practically begging for war
The only possible partition would have been a straight north/south divide with an straight line
>>
>give Bedouin negev to Israel???
>only arab lands touching Jerusalem
>no arab presence in the dead sea
>Jaffa, a Palestinian center given to the Jews
>>
>>18073823
>Why didn't it work?
Jews never had any intention of two states existing side by side. Nor should the Palestinians have accepted giving over half the land to 30% of the population.
>Could it be done today?
Not as long as the US government is bought and paid for by Jewish money.
>>
>>18074011
>Nor should the Palestinians have accepted giving over half the land to 30% of the population.
The thing is settlers pretty much can always swing the government to their side, more so if they have several powerful statea backing them. Population size doesnt matter if the state de facto or de jure counts you as less than one vote (or not at all). Look at the shitshow that was German South-West Africa to see that in action.

like this is better probably.

But the issue is that it is impossible to draw a line on a map (or even a very complicated and squiggly line like the one the UN actually made) that will make both the Palestinian and Jewish communities satisfied

I don't think it would have ever worked
>>
>>18073823
Neither side was willing to accept it (Israeli acceptance was solely tactical, they ethnically cleansed lands in the portion allotted to Palestine) and the boundaries weren't nearly coherent/defensible enough to survive in the event of war

10% unworkable map gore
90% Arabs being dumb chimps and not just accepting the fact that they're going to have to make some sort of accommodation with the Jews
>>
>>18074533
You think Israeli's would have just stopped at some arbitrary point? They wanted they whole pie and had an entire propaganda machine that worked at constantly promoting that.
>>
>>18073823
It was a joke plan that was comically favourable to Israel: the population of the territories allocated to the Jewish state was 45% Arab, and the Jewish state was larger in area than the Arab state despite Jews being fewer in number.

Then the settlers will demand more land because they'll use the previous forced "concessions" to justify future ones.

Jewish aggression.

If you remove the jews.

>Why didn't it work?
When was the last time the British drew lines on a map that local people respected?
>>
>why didn’t it work
Nobody realized yet
the kind of organized international and wealthy force the Zionists were.
Imagine if all the Arab nations actually went to the UN, brought local representatives, maps, data and pictures, and actually advocated for the Palestinian nation in a serious way. Instead they boycotted and literally let colonist powers do another Berlin conference on Palestinian land. Also nowhere did the UN demand that Israel not expel Palestinians even tho they were already massacring villages in the weeks leading up to the partition. Shameful blunder by the western powers and the media cover up/red herring of “oh hell the damned brownies have been fighting in that land for time immemorial”
>>18074533
Too many unread idiot absorb Zionist fake history and spew it back out. Retard it’s the psycho Zionists like avraham stern who couldn’t live alongside Palestinians. Their goal state was 70% Jewish no more than 30% Arab. There were also Jews already living in Palestine..
>>18074699
Wait till u see his rabbi!
>>
It didn't work because one side was given a state and the other wasn't. The partition was just europe guilt-tripping after the holocaust and giving away land they didn't own to people who weren't from there.

Could it be done today? No. You can't just draw lines on a map and expect people who've been fighting for 80 years to suddenly hold hands and sing kumbaya.
>>
It didn't work, because the partition didn't include the East of the Jordan river in Palestinian territorial calculations. Partition would have been more palatable if Jordan and Palestine were seen as one singular Palestinian entity, with a Bedouin and Jewish minority.

Yes, because you can only seize so much territory before it becomes impossible to hold.

*see Israel's abandonment of the Sinai peninsula in 1982

>Shinji-posting

Now, let's discuss Palestinian population growth from 1948 to 2023...

>>18074720

But enough about what the Gulf States did to their own Jewish populations the moment Israel was established.

>>18074753
>Then the settlers will demand more land because they'll use the previous forced "concessions" to justify future ones.

OR the Israelis would appear to be blatant aggressors (not being able to justify it under security reasons, which was the excuse for their invasion of Syria after Assad fell last year) and other nations, such of the United States, would draw a much harder line on not permitting them to seize territory from a sovereign Palestinian state, especially since not taking a hard stance against land grabs was one of the major triggers for the last major global war (y'all know which one).

This would have worked out fine. 95% of the land where Jews lived went to Jewish state, and 95% of the land where Muslims or Christians lived went to an Arab state.
>>
>>18075258
fucking antisemtitic plan tho
>>
>>18074057
Yeah invaders can actually try make the desert fucking bloom as they love to claim instead of stealing all the best agricultural land.
>>
>>18075308
How's that? It gives almost all the land where Jews lived to the Jewish state, and it even grants them a lot more land on top of that.
>>
>>18075329
It should give us Jerusalem (jewish holy city) at least.
>>
>>18075334
It could become a free city where the majority of Muslims and the minorities of Christians and Jews could govern it together. This wouldn't make it not the Jewish holy city, it would just sensibly recognize that it's got a whole other history as well as that.
>>
>>18073823
Partition was a mistake and a one-state solution (with Hebrew-Arabic official bilingualism and freedom of religion) was and is the only answer that wouldn't end in tragedy

So much surface level idiocy in this thread. It's astounding. Am I on 4chan or reddit?
>>
>>18073823
Any solution involving both states is flawed, so it's just a matter of degree.

Yes, I do believe the Palestine partition would work *better*, if Israel didn't fuck with Palestinian land. But no solution would have peace as both sides would consistently want more.

The only way there will ever be peace in Israel/Palestine is if one side fully eliminates the other.

And all the money and political support is on the side of the Jews... one of these days, they'll kill of all Palestinians and/or entirely rout them out of their land.

Then there will be a relatively calm peace, but it was peace through atrocity. The writing is pretty much on the wall at this point. If you watch a time lapse video of how Palestine "shrinks" over the years, it's pretty obvious they're about to go the way of the dodo.
----

One more thing. Benjamin Netanyahu deliberately supports Hamas and has both armed and funded them through discrete channels over the years. Elections seasons, he always finds ways to back Hamas and he tries to hinder the more moderate Palestinian politicians.

The reason being it, is peace is truly the last thing Netanyahu wants. He wants militant Palestinians to go to war with, so eventually he can purge them out of their lands. A more moderate Palestine, who's willing to engage in peace talks with Israel, will throw a wrench in Netanyahu's plans.

The Jews have to be given free land! They just HAVE to!
>>
>>18075395
Yes. It's our land to being with. Are you Muslim?

Give the Jews half of Madagascar and the other half to the Palestinians. Madagascans are moved to Israel.
Jerusalem remains an international city governed by the UN.

From the start, the jews were pretty clear that they wanted the entire land with less Palestinians in it. It's normal not accept a partition of your own land with new coming immigrants from Europe and you're a subhuman if you accept that.
