Is Halloween a demonic holiday? Should Christians have anything to do with it?
>>
>>18076170
Halloween was invented in the 1880s by retarded Irish immigrants specifically to scam people into buying candy in bulk from them. The only demonic thing about it is that it's Irish.

It's baffling to me how Christians have the Chutzpah to on one hand argue that Europe is foundationally Christian and then on the other decry every European tradition as Satanic.
>>
>>18076179
It has roots in Samhain which was practiced by devil worshippers.

>be christian
>literally ignore the entire point of your religion which is to evangelize
>instead of using a holiday where pagans and atheists literally come to your door, you hide in your house with the lights off
>b-b-but its demonic! D:
You think dressing as a ghost or eating candy has the power to corrupt your all-powerful God's protection? It is free outreach night, but you are too lazy and scared to engage with the world.

Samhain has nothing to do with devil worship you dumb evangelical amerilard.

At best, Hallowe'en is extraneous to the Christian, seen as a secular event that might allow a convenient excuse to be seen costumed in public, and to enjoy some candies. At worst, Hallowe'en is a spiritually troublesome event. Tread carefully. It is worth noting that early Christians knew of no such observance, so it is not required nor endorsed within a specifically antique Christian framework.

I dressed my kid up as iron man he's literally an icon of satan now <- tradtards

It has it's roots in harvest festivals. Everyone was going to church the next day for All Saints Day, so you could cut loose on the day before. That's it. It's just a holiday weekend and the crops are in so you're not breaking your back from sun rise anymore.
>inb4 satan is in the costume!
Poor man's version of a masquerade. It's just farmers having fun. God is ok with you having fun, dweeb.
>>
My church is doing a Reformation Day celebration on the 31st with candy and treats as an alternative for the kids.

Christcuckery in general is retarded but Baptists are a whole other layer of stupid.

That sounds like hell and super gay and lame. I'm glad I'm old enough that I got to actually trick or treat as Satan seemingly intended and didn't do gay church shit like a fag.

Halloween is a Satanist holiday, Christian should stay away from it and stop interfering with our rites.
Same way we don't interfere with Christian holidays Easter or Christmas or the Assumption of Mary.
>>

Your commercialized Walmart version of Halloween has absolutely nothing to do with Celtic traditions that died thousands of years ago. Retarded evangelicalmutt.

>judaism is when I can't sell expired candy to buy more whiskey
Ok Seamus.

I can't speak for the Celts, but most christian holidays in Europe are at least partially pre-christian European festivals. Europe never died out, it just got a judaic coat of paint.

My point was that what amerisharts like OP call "Halloween" is absolutely nothing like Samhain. In fact, the original Samhain was closer to a traditional Christian feast than modern Halloween is to the occult. There are beaners in this thread right now who think it upsets God to buy a flimsy polyester printed "costume" at a dollar store. Think about that.

There are christians in Europe who think so too. And it applies to pretty much all the holidays. I know of christian families who correctly identified the yulefather/santa, the yule tree, the elves, the nisse, the tomte, the dressing up, the masks, the bonfires, etc. as pagan. Even the national church here openly recognizes that it has syncretized a ton of European traditions (and that's a prot church, meaning that they've already eradicated most of the traditions which had carried over into catholicism). I don't know anything about Celts, but the pumpkin carving into heads (skulls having a prominent role in ancestral veneration) and setting up lights for the dead (same), the costumes and masks (present throughout European culture and AFAIK completely absent from biblical sources), the trick or treating (similar to other European practices like yulebukk), etc. all seems pretty European and not very biblical to me.
And this isn't a new thing, there are records all throughout the christianization period of christian authorities debating on how to deal with the European festivals. Some advocate for the violent suppression, but that causes martyrdom and a strengthens the resolve. The smart ones instead realized that they could just slap a crucifix on the event and rebrand it.

>NO NO NO NO YOU MAY NOT PARTAKE IN YOUR ANCESTRAL TRADITIONS UNLESS THEIR COMPLETELY PURE
who let the jew in here?
if I want to remember my ancestors by enjoying cheap candy and carving pumpkins with my gf who's going to stop me?

why are kikes likes this?

Saint Martin's day exists as well. Though I think the trick or treating and lantern-walking part of it is only popular in the Netherlands and Germany
