What are some /his/torical events that you think never happened? Just straight up falsified, lied about, didn't happen at all.I have my doubts about the battle of Watling street. It's just too perfect an ending and neatly wraps up Boudiccas alleged revolt in one big setpiece battle that strains credulity.
>>18077519>irregular forces revolt and gain an initial upper hand as authorities struggle to coordinate>rebels push their luck and face the professional military in decisive battle on unfavorable terrain>professional military thrashes the rebelsHappens literally all the time.
>>18077519>Boudiccas alleged revoltCamulodunum, Londinium and Verulamium, the three major towns Boudicca sacked, all have destruction layers dated to the 60's a.d.There's zero reasons to doubt Cassius Dio and Tacitus on their tellings of the revolt.
>>18077523>And then the webels gathered all da romans together an burned them and ripped their guts out like BLAGGHHH and tortured them! But then the romans got their leejuns and they- they were like "GRAHHHH" an they killt 80 bujillion britons and lost like five guys and it was super sweet.Like I said, it strains credulity. The Iceni and allied tribes already wiped out regular roman forces (allegedly) before the battle but they lost because "o my invincible legions" give me a break. This is obvious propaganda get your head out of your ass. The Romans held onto control in Britain but it didn't go down like that.
>>18077523 No physical evidence for battle of stalingrad
>>18077519>Just straight up falsified, lied about, didn't happen at all.None of it. Zero.Ever since discovered that the "Giant Gold-Digging Ants" Herodotus was talking about was a real animal in the form of a Gold-Digging Marmot, I now think all history is real "to some extent".
>>18077519I'm a Holocaust Denial Denier. I don't think anyone actually exists who think it didn't happen. They're either trolling, playing devil's advocate, or think it wasn't that bad/a good thing
>>18077649No physical evidence for battle of stalingrad.Holocaust ovens were hotter than wtc so wtc refutes Holocaust.
>>18077651This is an odd meme. Are you under the impression they should just leave the ruins untouched for the next 80 years whilst rebuilding a city all around it?
>>18077658Nobody seriously believes the Holocaust in light of the fact the oven temperature refutes wtc. But jidf will agree with whatever you say since they're your employer anyway.
>>18077534So what's the purpose of making up that story then?
>>18077666There is no physical evidence that Hitler wasn't alive and orchestrating 9/11
>>18077658Vyborg in Russia had large parts either destroyed in ww2 and never rebuilt or were still starting to get money put in to it
>>18077534>Entirely fabricate a victorious battle>Don't fabricate not having your forces earlier wiped outWhat's your contention? Clearly Rome defeated the Britons unless you think the whole revolt was made up.
>>18077519The Maine was a false flag, and the Gulf of Tonkin incident didn't happen. There's another one, that we all know, but can't talk about it yet
>>18077523They werent irregulars, they were hardened British warriors.
>>18078659>they were hardened British warriors
Basically every popular "fact" about Ireland's role in WW2 is completely falsified, and it's my belief that the British and Zionist lobbies are the ones responsible.>Ireland signed a book of condolences for Hitler!Never happened, no book even existed. There is no evidence to suggest this ever happened.>Ireland let German Uboats dock to refuel! Also never happened. When German pilots were downed in Ireland, they were arrested-when Allied pilots went down, they got sent home to Britain.>Ireland supported the Nazis! Not only did Ireland not do this, but they were also so overtly pro-allies that to call Ireland neutral at all is stretching it. They did far, far, far more than was required of them to help the allies. It wasn't long after WW2 that Israel was founded and Ireland were among its earliest critics. Britain and the US were angry that Ireland didn't let itself be used as a personal airstrip for their latest war in Europe, and I quite honestly believe these lies (which can be found everywhere, including in Ireland where many still believe it) were spread or reinforced by British or Israeli people trying to find an angle against Irish neutrality.
>>18078497Most stories of Roman wars always start with "yeah we got our asses handed to us a little bit at the start but then we got serious and WON!!" it's the same shit every time.
Some of the older Chinese stuff seems suspect.
>>18078691In the future it will be pro-Irish to say “Ireland were undeclared Nazis”. That is the way the world is going.
>>18080249Your supposed picture example is stuff from a 14th century novel that directly contracts the actual preserved 3rd century history records. That said, it does show a mechanism for how "falsified" history actually happens. Later people write historical fiction, and because the fiction sometimes sounds cooler, people just end up studying the fiction instead and forgetting the older history entirely.
