Could the USSR have survived without Stalin's brutal policies?
>>18078290I don’t think it had to be as brutal as it was under Stalin, since it survived for decades after him and with destalinization. But repression was necessary. As for WW2, all it needed was leaders willing to hold out to the end, and Germany would eventually be ground down. It might have done even better without Stalin.
>>18078290Stalin took everything way too far and crippled the Soviet Union when it could have been much stronger going into World War II.
>>18078290many christians of eastern europe willingly joined the nazi because they were fighting against the godless communistsso no, stalin was right to purge anyone and everyone
>>18078290Yes, the Great Purge was entirely unecessary, especially the purge of the Red Army. Stalin had already cemented his rule over the party, and his suspicions of army disloyalty or a trotskyist conspiracy was overblown paranoia. Purging the army was the direct reason why the Red Army performed so poorly during the invasion of Eastern Poland, the Winter War, Khalkin Gol (Though they won, they took way more losses than needed), and early Barbarossa. Purging the proponents of deep battle and replacing them with retards like Semyon Budyonny set them back decades.
>>18078390>many Christian’s You mean seething. hohols and White Russian bandits and rapists who proceeded to ravage Belarus? Yeah, some Christian’s

>>18078290The USSR didn't survive
>>18078622I've never seen Ukrainians wave around the hammer and sickle. Plenty of Russians invading Ukraine with the Soviet flag tho.
>>18079799There actually is a Communist party of Ukraine which is separate from CPRF and still supports the SMO because both parties are allied against the Maidan gov.
No because brutal policies are the inevitable result of Marxist ideology, not some kind of misapplication or misinterpretation.
>>18078346>all it needed was leaders willing to hold out to the end, and Germany would eventually be ground down.
>>18078346>all it needed was leaders willing to hold out to the end, and Germany would eventually be ground down.lol, no.
>>18078290>>18078346Stalins brutal policies were necessary. This is fucking Russians we are talking about. You don't rule them with nice words and lectures.
>>18078290It would've done far better. The only time Stalin's policies are justified is in WW2, which was emergency situation and was made worse by Stalin's retarded policies in the first place.
>>18080482>nooooo why are you punishing criminals and traitors who hate the nation?Lol licks
>>18081231>>18081232That’s literally what happened in real life. Germany was ground down to a nub. The allies had way more men and way more material. There’s literally nothing Germany could have done to win because its enemies didn’t give up. The only times it won was because it completely outmatched its enemy (Poland, Denmark, etc.) or delivered a shock significant enough to make them surrender (France). But then when the big boys just decided they wouldn’t surrender or sue for peace? The meat grinder destroys Germany until there’s nothing left.>muh leningrad, moscow, or stalingradMeaningless as long as the Soviets keep getting supplies from the west and keep fighting on. All Germany’s enemies have to do is not surrender and keep bleeding Germany white.
>>18082946You must fucking love cops.
Stalin was a disaster for the USSR
>>18083387Spot the communist. Also just because they forcef you to live the boot doesn't mean the pair in other countries did it to you retard. Most of America's are just willing to fight everyone and not ONLY it's own people.
>>18078290No, the USSR fell because a disenfranchized new class of elites were in discontent with the economic state of the union.Whether Stalin's policies had been less brutal wouldn't have changed much. Had he still been in power, he would have still centralized and fully plannify the economy, and it would've still been an innfecient mess unable to comply with consumer demand.
