Why did the Britishers allow Greeks (Christian Balkan people) to invade Anatolia? They're not native there.
>>
Lmao its their land turkshit. Im happy turks are discriminated against in germany btw :)
>>
>>18082157
Turks are from central asia
>>
>>18082157
The last native Anatolian people were the Isaurians and they were annihilated by Anastasius. For all purposes the Greeks are the native people of Anatolia, in coastal Anatolia they had already been there since the Greek dark ages

Retarded Indian

turkish people actually should be genocided. their native homeland is bum fuck siberia. these niggers do not deserve to have a country.

>In late July 1437, a Latin report on the status of the Greek Church was drawn up for the attention of the Council of Basel. It states that ‘it ought to be mentioned that in many parts of Turkey one can find clergy – bishops and archbishops – who wear infidels’ clothes and speak their language, and don’t know how to do anything in Greek other than sing the mass, gospel and epistles. Many of them deliver their other speeches in Turkish.

It never changed hands.

>1437
turkey already conquered the Anatolia at that point niggercompute.

Regardless of the outcome of the war, the fact that the Greeks began from only holding the Peloponnese to being a few km away from taking over Ankara in just one century is impressive. Turks simply can't get over that their former subjects almost destroyed them that they feel the need to bring it up constantly and erase any signs which they once had in Anatolia
>>
>>18083757
And the Greeks started speaking Turkish. They're still there to this day. Little to no foreigners to speak of.
>>
>>18083771
you are denying turks live in turkey?

why would they have genocided the armenians then
>>
>>18083774
Greeks started identifying as Turks. The Armenians didn't. Simple as.
>>
>>18083777
But then why was there a Greek genocide?
>>
>>18083792
You already know that. I'm just saying the Turks living there are the descendants of Greeks. The land didn't have its entire Medieval Greek population replaced by foreign Turkic people.
>>
>>18083798
Until the greek genocide and population transfers. Correct

>to being a few km away from taking over Ankara in just one century is impressive
Meh, the Bulgarian army was just several kilometers from Constantinople in 1913. It doesn't really matter how near you are if it doesn't lead to anything.
>>
>>18083804
Yes, you are correct.
Though some population transfer also occurred in the Medieval Turkish conquests. There was depopulation during these conquests but some Greek families would move back to their towns/cities after it was conquered and Ottomans would also move Greeks around to address population shortage. These Medieval conquests didn't cause the entire Greek population to be replaced like the Greek genocide, as a lot of these Medieval Greeks eventually became Turkish over time evidently.

It's really a sad history.
>>
Anatolians were Indo-Europeans from the Balkans thoughbeit

Well, these people were something else before they became Greeks, so there's that.
>>
>>18083811
Bulgarians don't live rent free in Turkish heads unlike the Greeks. And Ankara is more important for Turkey than Constantinople because it's their base of operations not a glorified merchant city

What's sad? Turks are more Central Asian than a lot of Greeks are Hellenic. Anatolian "Greeks" were NEAR 0% HELLENIC BY THE WAY. Pontic Greeks are straight up Hellenized Georgians and Lazs. Which means that Anatolian Turks actually natively speak their own language which was transmitted from their ancestors. Whereas Anatolians learned Greek in churches.

Are you also thinking that it was sad how Slavs and Anatolians of Greece were Hellenized or are you pretending that Greeks are pure Greeks?
