>Look at basically any rightwing, western chauvnist hawk intellectual or Anti-Communist intellectual.
>90% of the time they were a Trotskyist in their 20s and 30s.
Why is Trotskyism pretty much always a stepping stone to be a right wing intellectual. Trotsky's direct acolytes also went on to be some of the most important figures in setting up the modern political right.
How did a Communist/Marxist movement become so fervently anti-Communist and right wing?

Because Trotskyism and liberal consrrvativism is one and the same. It’s a group of whiny Jews who believe that they deserve to have absolute power over you and that you should trust them because of their education/background/expertise as opposed to anything actually impressive about them. They are spiteful mutants who don’t have any actual beliefs, they mutate to suit their environment.

They became disillusioned with Marxism-Leninism due to the rise of Stalin, who came to dominate the USSR and the wider communist movement via the Third International (Comintern), which was seen as a 'Degenerated Worker's state' and because of the assassination of Trotsky himself. At the same time, they adapted Trotsky's idea of Permanent Revolution as a right wing concept, which translated to interventionism.

not even a /pol/tard, but come on

In the abstract Trotsky and the communists rejected tribal ties, but due to the pogroms many Jews flocked to the Bolsheviks and there was certainly an element of ethnic nepotism. They would say Trotsky was a hero of the working class and the legitimate continuation of the vision of Lenin, but for them he was a hero of the Jewish people, someone who helped defeat the evil Tsar.

The eastern European Jews who migrated to America made no bones about it, they coalesced in and around New York, which was almost a third Jewish at one point, and there was certainly a strong vein of support for communism and the Soviets there until Stalin when the vast majority lost their taste for it. Though a few continued to support Stalin, notably Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, most switched to Trotsky.

Thus Jewish thought in America ran the gamut from the moralistic conservatism of more established western Jews who arrived in America as early as the 18th century, mingled with WASPs and borderline viewed themselves as being just another protestant denomination to said Trotskyites. A typical story, Jewish immigrants manage to rise to the middle class or start a business and try to get their sons into the same university along with other Jewish middle classes. These youths are enamored by Marx, Engels, Lenin, Trotsky and the rest but after Trotsky dies and the red scare and they get older they cool it with the Marxist remarks and turn to judeo-conservatism, though Marxist rhetoric and thinking permeates their writing. Wohlstetter, Wolfowitz, Schachtman to name a few.

These in turn transmit their hybrid thought to a new generation of Jews, eventually maturing into what might be considered neoconservatism.

Trotsky actually sort of believed his farts smelled like roses so he attracts people looking for genuine logical people. Then still they realize communisms retarded eventually.

Everyone was a communist because it was the only viable eschatology post enlightenment.

Fortunately the technosingularity chudd now offer a different viable ultimate destiny of mankind. It’ll take a little time but eventually they’ll produce a Luther to humble the left. Communism has become so decontextualized and irrelevant the collective unconscious is practically begging for him to show up at this point.

Trotskyism is basically seething loser "Socialism" for radlibs who can't see past Cold War anti-Communist propaganda and Khrushchev's bullshit destalinization.
Anti-USSR Trotskyism becomes anti-Communism and they view Liberalism as the vanguard of progressive politics. I mean, Trotsky was practically this by the late 30s, he literally wanted the USSR to bow down to Nazi Germany ffs.
Not that hard to see how Permanent Revolution become Liberal interventionalism when Uni students grow out of their radical edgelord phase and jump into 6 figure post-grad establishment careers.
Notice that Trotskyism, a literal anti-Soviet movement is the main form of "Communism" in the west as well, not actually successful Socialist movements (Marxist-Leninism, Socialism with *insert national* characteristics), think that is coincidence when Spycops and Cointelpro literally unveiled the far-left has been functionally controlled by MI5 and the FBI for decades?

This is actually a normal thing that happens during revolutionary periods. There are young, idealistic radicals who become disillusioned with it and move to the right. It's not a universal experience with radicals, but it happens to some section of them. This also happened during the French Revolution where Jacobins turned into ex-Jacobins because they didn't like Napoleon. There were British radicals who supported the French Revolution like Samuel Coleridge and William Wordsworth who later became conservatives. Anyhow, this is an interesting thing and I could say a few more things about it.

Trotskyists were not exactly big supporters of Khrushchev. I don't know if you've run into Orthodox Trots like the Spartacist League. They have strange positions that don't fit the Stalinist caricatures of them.

>I mean, Trotsky was practically this by the late 30s, he literally wanted the USSR to bow down to Nazi Germany ffs.
No he didn't. Trotsky condemned the M-R Pact, predicted it wouldn't last, and was then assassinated by Stalin's agents. You have Stalinist zombie brainrot or are mentally ill. The Trotskyists at the time were hardline for defending the USSR against imperialist attack BTW. They just promoted that line while also calling for the overthrow of Stalin. This might appear insane but this is why they have this whole vocabulary of "degenerated" or "deformed" worker's states, it's a way for them to say the Soviet leadership had been subverted by revisionists, but nevertheless, the USSR needed to be defended. Like I was saying about the Spartacist League, they'll have slogans like "Defend the North Korean Deformed Workers' State Right to Nuclear Weapons." It's a mouthful, I'll admit.

As to why this happens, a revolution begins as a negation of the existing order, but once it succeeds, it has to organize itself into a positive system, but once it does that it hardens into a new authority that justifies the extreme, anti-democratic or emergency measures it takes as a temporary measure to protect the revolution. But it turns out not to be temporary, you have a new oppressive order or regime of domination (that's also hierarchical, imperial, authoritarian, state-capitalist machine). It's not the same thing as the ancien regime, there are some rights that exist that didn't exist before, but what you're getting is the "negation of the negation" (or sublation).

It's actually a form of reaction that emerges from within the revolution. Examples here are Napoleon and Stalin. In a kind of dialectical manner, social progress and reaction become conjoined concepts, they coexist and even depend on each other to some extent, and it's the interaction between these things that history plays out (at least in part). So, reaction is actually produced *by* progress, or is like a distorted or displaced reponse to certain failures or exclusions (paradoxically) generated by progress. At any rate, the embittered ex-Jacobin or ex-communist becomes horrified at seeing this happen, because there's actually nothing more disgusting than something you believed in turning into its opposite or becoming some new mechanism of domination and slavery. People react to it in different ways, but some of them also turn to their opposites and become *neo*-conservatives. They're not the old conservatives, they're something new, generated by a crisis in the revolutionary process itself.

I'll give you some other recent examples. In the U.S., the 1980s was kind of a reactionary period. But it was a weird, coked-up kind of postmodern reaction that was itself produced by the New Left in a paradoxical kind of way, like with figures such as P.J. O'Rourke who had been a leftist and then became a right-wing satirist who borrowed the methods of the counter-culture. There was a whole "it's edgy / hip to be right-wing" thing and trying to be ironic in the 1980s that also tried to rollback the social movements of the 60s, while also co-opting elements of it. The right wasn't simply going backwards but responding in a creative way to the challenge posed by the counterculture. That's how reaction mutates: not nostalgia for the old order, but a new modern conservatism shaped by the very movements it despises.

Also see the alt-right, MAGA, etc. Those things could not exist without the social transformations of the late 20th century. Plenty of it on this website, but it uses digital media, meme culture. You have fascist catboys I guess too. It's like hyper-modern reaction but it's also responding to certain progressive movements that have a quasi-oppressive dimension to some extent, like punitive online cancel culture and "we need to destroy this guy's life because of something he once said." Now imagine how people felt about Stalinist show trials in the 1930s. Some anon will tell you all of those people deserved it, but you have no idea. It was all there: casual remarks interpreted as offensive, demanding confessions (which are never good enough), the absurdly ballooning accusations taken as further proof of guilt, pressure on other members of the community to join in to demonstrate their allegience to the ideology, the lack of human sympathy elevated into a virtue. Then the next thing you know, some bird-brained OGPU agent is tearing one your eyeballs out (literally) in an interrogation chamber.

It seems as though Trotskyists are mode likely to challenge the beliefs of fellow leftists, especially now because of their marginalized status, my guess is these people were authoritarian and socially conservative and as western leftist movements became increasingly liberal, as well as never questioning or meaningfully criticizing the party line, party leaders, or party policy of Russia and China, a lot of these people had epiphanies and realized just how utterly retarded everyone around them was for being blind sheep, hypocritical, inconsistent, fantastically libtarded and self-hating
