Chuds and libtards are utterly delusional about what the "White Man's Burden" actually was. It was an ad hoc justification for continued interest in colonial investment. Most people in their home countries just didn't really care that much about colonization. Even a lot of the governments were ambivalent about many of these colonies. The modern equivalent would be people trying to convince Americans that their third world "humanitarian" projects are worthwhile. It also wasn't because of white people being cartoon villains, as libtards would posit, or self-hating egalitarian cucks, as anti-Christian chuds would posit.

If I was a white guy in the 18th Century I'd have gone to the colonies too. Building a settlement somewhere in a jungle full of wild beasts and savages, equipped with nothing but a musket and a whip sounds like a lot of fun.

>or self-hating egalitarian cucks, as anti-Christian chuds would posit.
Superficially drawing on empathy is also a more convincing strategy than just being like
>we need to invade this shithole in the jungle nobody wants to live in and exterminate everyone there
>why
>because they're black and have weird skulls
>that's retarded i'm staying home
>>

a man needs a name

In the 18th century you'd almost certainly die from diseases and parasites slowly destroying your body. You'd need to wait for the invention of quinine for that to become very fun.

To be fair brown people are a burden

>Slavix
is that like Latinx for Slavs?
>>
>>18103151
Yes it seems to be a common trend to add -ix to the end of everything these days.
>>
Yeah it's such a burden to get infinite free resources and exploited free labor from colonial parasitism
>>
>>18103156
The colonization of most of Africa and other such places, in contrast to earlier waves, was primarily ego-driven and sucked away more money than it gave in return.
>>
>>18103159
Why are you still stealing resources from Africa then

Even the french was only kicked out a few years ago

Burkna faso making the west kvetch each day

>>18103178
"You"? Haha. Also you're a retard!
>>

Africa was mostly for prestige, net negative financially
>>
>>18103072
>Most people in their home countries just didn't really care that much about colonization
Yet many moved abroad into the colonies? It was basically a massive land+asset grab that for many was the only way to attain an middle class status or escape the labour/market conditions back home in Europe.
>>
>>18103082
Working on the frontier wasn't a desirable job and your unemployed faggot ass can't even manage to work under supervision of your betters, let alone yourself.
>>
>>18105168
>Africa was mostly for prestige
Not really. It was for market expansion and cutting off other powers form securing trade and resources away from them. Actual prestige projects made use of assets and wealth attained from the colonies in Africa and Asia but those tende to get glossed over.

>net negative financially
anon education and healthcare are "net negative financially". A fuckton of the colonies were vital in securing ports, resources, labour markets and more

Such a burden to get free resources and free labor from a population that votes for you. Indians loved the british so much.
I think the burden was the responsibility to do a good job which the British didn't do. The british certainly didn't suffer from success.
>>
>>18105168
Yeah getting free diamonds and gold is such a negative thing financially. It's called suffering from success.
>>
>>18105759
Seems like the correct position here.

They needed them golds fa school, colonials din du nothin'
sheeeeeit
>>
>>18106044
the colonial governments saw essentially none of the profits of those mines retard, especially if you're talking about south africa.
colonialism was deeply unprofitable for the government but wildly profitable for the private interests leeching off government investments
