How would western civilization have developed if the lesson of the story is that if hardships come its because god wants you to come home
with him and kys?

Then God loses, which is impossible

What if God hated Job and wanted him to die? So he made Satan do his dirty?

McNutt knew something we don't

Then he wouldn't; record Job in the Bible then

He literally lost to a Moabite deity in your own book lol

Also the Job book proves deceit, he did his part of the covenant (blameless) yet it was not upheld
>>

Moabites converted to Yahweh.
>>
God already spoiled the ending; that Job would remain faithful
You cannot spoil a story and not deliver. That's called lying

That's not what I'm referring to mr. pilpul. And there's no passage saying your claim either

He promised total victory to the israelites and failed due to a petition to the moabite god
>>
>>18104298
Yeah, and how is that his fault?

A perfect plan ruined by soldiers not being on their posts is not a fault of the General
>>
>>18104303
He declared total victory and failed. It doesn't matter how it happened. How can an omnipotent god make a false prophecy/promise

Cope forever
>>
>>18104350
There were only 2 instances of God promising victory against the Moabs
First is during Judges where they managed to kick them out and end their reign over the Israelites
And second during Kings wherein he assured them a supply of resources that would never run out

You are referring to the part where the Israelites were forced to retreat after God's wrath befell them for destroying more than necessary. They received what God has promised - freedom, but their overambition was denied

He lost to iron chariots in Judges 1:19
