>after the proletariat takes over they'll totes give up power and everyone will live equally
This dude really knew nothing of human nature, didn't he?

Everyone was super, naively optimistic because for centuries they've been fed the Rousseau Kool-Aid about Man being naturally good as opposed to the truth of the Hobbesian man — who mind you, is based on the Biblical view of Man having fallen from Grace — in that man will naturally incline toward doing evil, selfish things to his peers for power and survival

All this arguing about what "pre-civilized" "natural man" was and what kind of human nature, values, and social structures they had. Why not just visit North Sentinel Island and observe their behavior?

That wasn't the question for Marx. Why do you rednecks keep talking about the author without having read Capital?

Give up the power to whom? They are the majority. DotP is essentially a democracy, which like all democratic regimes, still engages in repression against its enemies - the people who will try to preserve or restore the capitalist order. This idea was twisted by retards to the point of carricature, but Marx and Engels were edgy liberals who just thought capitalism was holding epic progress back. They explicitly said they envisioned a society organized like Paris commune. They were just a little shortsighted in regards to how the revolution can get hijacked by opportunists who will use it to amass power and recreate the class society in some other form, often unwittingly so. But even those failures, they would most likely argue, are historical flukes, while the historical tendency towards actual real unironic communism is inevitable. It's impossible not to see this if you read them and are being intellectually honest and not treating them as gods or demons but as men of their time.
>nooooo he was actually supporting my communist microtendency that advocates totalitarian rule by a council of Marxist philosopher kings chosen by a random number generator read this obscure romanian Marxist writer
Whatever dweeb.

He wasn't making a moral argument to the extent he was claiming to predict the future.
