>>
>be ancient sand king
>have lots of territory you cant project power over easily
>some sand people rebel against you in another city
>pull up and defeat their rebellion in a small battle
>have your scribes publish that you killed 183486834623468 duodecillion people
>no one can fact check it so everyone is afraid
>territory now under control

He was really lazy and enjoyed pumping himself up. He never once actually went on campaign, his excuse to not go to join the campaign to Elam was that he said the goddess Ishtar said he should be eating dates n shit instead. He also thought of himself as an intellectual and a great sage and scribe but from what we know he was pretty mediocre with his greatest work of scholarship being a compilation of actual intellectuals and what they wrote. The Greeks and Romans sort of melded Ashurbanipal with the name Sennacherib to mean a super wealthy and decadent king

>run a stable prospering civilization
>eran_njeets, steppejeets, and churkjeets raid your shit out of seething envy
>find out where they sleep and rape them into extinction
>enjoy prosperity for a little while before more of these undesirables start moving in
he did nothing wrong.
