Why do Protestants pick and choose what they want to believe? Is Protestantism just a “build your own religion”, “create a custom Jesus” type religion?
I'm trying to get into Christianity but I literally can't because everyone seems to believe everyone else is wrong about something. How did this shit even survive for so long lol

They are basically saying, “yes Jesus I know you explicitly commanded your followers to do these sacramental rituals, but like, I think you were just, like, kidding about all that, man” They are severely endangering their salvation by their rejection of confession and need to be prayed for heavily
