Is Sufism the true Islam?
>>18113122>Sufism = SalafismProphet Muhammad was the first Sufi.
>>18113122Yes
>>18113122It certainly is the gayest Islam.
>>18113122I increasingly think so. I think Islam got hijacked by a bunch of nerds with all the legalism, exclusivism, taqlidism, and hadith autism of the orthodoxy. Muslims don't worship the divine, they worship a man-made mess of rules and regulations administered by a venal and predatory clergy. I think Islam was far more of an ecumenical, inclusive monotheism at its outset with multiple paths to truth and grace. I find Donner's theory about an inclusive community of Believers being transformed top-down into an exclusive community of Muslims during the 1st and 2nd century reification of Islam to be thoroughly convincing. I tend to find the more inclusive, permissive, spiritualistic Islam of Rumi, ibn Arabi, al-Hallaj, Bektashi, Pir Sultan Abdal, and the Qalandariyya to be closer to the truth for this reason.

>>18113200Bring back woke islam!
>>18113217>Qalandariyya Weren't these guys just drunks and gamblers?
>>18113200This is a pretty sentiment but it’s cope. Islam is and will always be a set of laws first and a religion second. Obedience to sharia is the most important part of Islam. Don’t believe me? Consider this: someone who believes in God but who doesn’t follow the various rules of Islam (halal food, praying 5 times a day, you name it) is a worse Muslim than someone who doesn’t believe God exists but who follows all the rules of Islam to the letter.
>>18113122Sufism is likely a pre-Islamic religion that got subsumed into Islam, somewhat like how Judaism, Christianity and to a lesser degree Zoroastrianism were. The whole passage in the Quran about the man (Khidr) who taught Moses is another pre-Islamic story like that of Jesus/Isa or the various Jewish prophets or the Arab ones (Salif) which got copied into Islam.

>>18113122No, Quranism is
>>18113122"True Islam" is an oxymoron.
>>18113200>>18113270The problem with this idea are the early quranic manuscrips that are radiocarbon dated to the earliest days of islam like the San'a manuscript and the Birmigham manuscript and the fact that the quran really sounds like it is written down by a sadistic arab warlord who often used the carrot and the stick concept in his holy book with heaven and hell. But the hadiths and Muhammad's life story were written centuries after his death and islam quran without the hadiths is very confusing and nonsensical.
>>18113122Historically it is the traditional Islam yes.
Makes me laugh that some religions need weird hallucinogenic sacraments to convene with the divine and these guys just spin around until they're dizzy
>>18113122I was born into an alevi family and although I don't really believe in alevism nor in any other dogma, I genuinely believe the core principles of alevism make us morally superior to most muslims

>>18113992Quranism is not Islam. People have been jailed in Muslim countries for being Quranists.
>>18114500What are the core principles?
