The Holy Spirit is a narrative invention to hand-wave away the obvious incestuous implication of the fact Jesus claims to be God (John 10:30) and God is the one described as impregnating the Virgin Mary (Matthew 1:18), meaning Jesus impregnated his own mother to give birth to himself in an act of magical incest. Disgusting.Using "Holy Spirit" in place of "God" makes that point slightly less obvious (even though most Christians are NPCs who would never stop to think it through anyway).
The trinity is an absolutely retarded concept in general and the fact that it took so long for Christians to agree on the nature of the trinity makes it look even less convincing.
