>>18115131Hitchens and Lennox are some of the most vile sophists I've ever had the displeasure to listen to.
>>18115131Atheism hasn't won, its demographic growth in America is on the verge of statistical error and to date there is nothing that is better achieved in an atheistic paradigm compared to a theistic one. What we're seeing isn't the age of atheism, but the age of degenerating spirituality. The demographic growth is primarily in the "irreligious" group, most of whom claim to believe in a "higher power" of some sort, many even in a God. Except they want the convenience to be manifesting and reading tarot cards. As is the case for most civillizations, convenience wins.
>>18115812To say atheism hasn't won because everyone isn't an atheist is to assume the common goal of atheists is the same as that of the christian paradigm, i.e. to poz everyone with your beliefs.
>>18115850I don't particularly wonder about what atheists want, I'm just pointing out that the belief hasn't "won" in terms of demographics, utility or power, so it's difficult to see how it won anything besides a handful of debates back in the day.
