It is however a sin for citizens to resist wrongdoers because application of the law must be a collective (aka government) process and not up to whims of the individual. The problem in the west is that the government has completely failed to uphold its divine mandate so the only thing christians can do is try to change the government through non violent means (It should also be mentioned that destroying peoples property isn't violence since Jesus did exactly that in the temple).
