Why do Spain and France like to pretend now that there actions played any real significant part in the US winning the Revolution? Were the French at Saratoga? Were the Spanish at Bunker Hill? Were either of them with Washington as he crossed the Delaware?
>>
>>18117191
>the British were still experiecing the man losses and cost of the 7 years war
Fake win of the Americans
>>
>implying Yorktown would have happened without the French
Howe going full retard and marching on Philly instead of linking up with Burgoyne was truly the end of it all. Everything after that was just Brits and Mutts killing each other until somebody called for parley
>>
>>18117191
Literally no one says this
>>
>>18117191
>there actions
Good morning saar, are you now an US citizen?
>>
>>18117191
The long during french navy blockade on the whole east coast and Caribbean in support of the revolution helped a lot. Not all battles are fought on land.
>>
>>18117191
They both funded your war and kept your logistics up, dumbass

The French got bankrupt because of it, and that led to the French Revolution
>>
>>18117353
The French were already bankrupt.
The reality is that the Frog Chimpout of '89 happened because young bvlls like Lafayette and Paine got a taste for glory and brought back the embers of republican egalitarianism with them. The French monarchy was a fag (as in the bundle of sticks) soaked in gasoline just waiting to go up.

>The French were already bankrupt.
Please stop being retarded. The French never cared about being bankrupt in these times. They were still holding Italian states bankers by the balls, firmly.
>>
>>18117446
Then why were they bankrupt? Your post makes no sense.
>>
>>18117384
Paine was a retard who was licking the revolutions bum while Burke was tearing it apart.
>>

It's pretty simple actually, they gave up on America because it was costing too much. When a diplomat tells you his country his bankrupt, he's just saying "well fuck this shit i'm out". And it's what happened.
If France was really bankrupt as you seem to assume, the rest of Europe would've eaten them.
And again, even if the coffers were to be empty (which is a complete fantasy on a rational level given of their position on the worldwide trade market), they had more than one way to replenish it.
I'm not sure how to make myself more clear than that to be honest.

>they gave up on America because it was costing too much
Anon... they didn't have any claim to it outside of the bayous of Louisiana.
>And it's what happened.
This better be a bait post
>the rest of Europe would've eaten them.
That's not how anything works
>And again, even if the coffers were to be empty (which is a complete fantasy on a rational level
Oh no... he's retarded.
>on a rational level
What the fuck is this even supposed to mean
>it's not rational that the Third Estate was called to convene and then *gestures to the rest of the French Revolution*
I mean...

All you're doing is mixing my words just to extract exactly what i just said, for some fucked up reason. That's just weird dude.

>What was the Armada of 1779
>What was the great siege of Gibraltar
>What was the capture of Menorca
>What was the West Indies campaign
>What was the Battle of the Saintes
>What was the British expedition to Nicaragua
>What was the second Anglo-Mysore war
>What was the Action of 9 August 1780 and other privateering ventures
People always seem to forget that following the Franco-Spanish-Dutch involvement the American revolutionary war became a globe spanning conflict akin in some ways to the 7 years war. The largest engagement of the war wasn't even on the American continent, but in Europe. The European powers keeping Britain distracted around the globe was a boon to the Americans for obvious reasons.

How new are you?

>American Independance was won on the sea.
>American patriots had no navy.

So whose navy is this ?

>French and spanish
>>
>>18117191
Completely ignore Brandywine, where Lafayette first shed blood for the American cause, and Yorktown, where a Franco-American force captured Cornwallis' whole army. Honestly, your thesis is ridiculous. The entry of France and Spain was enough pressure to weaken the British bargaining position at the negotiating table. Prospective French intervention forced Clinton to withdraw from Philadelphia to New York, and the safety of the British Navy.

You probably think the Confederates lost the Civil War because they weren't manly enough or something.

The Brits didn’t want to lose wealth generating Caribbean sugar islands and other colonial outposts around the world. As the war dragged on they knew they’d never be able to win back the 13 colonies and decided to cut their losses rather than get dogpiled by their historical enemies and take more Ls.

By 1780 most of Europe was at war with or had an armed neutrality pact against Britain.
