How is this realted to the body? Is this just a metaphorical way of describing the brain? Explain to me like as if I am an elementary student

The simple and correct answer is that it is a term made up by superstitious people.

It's not the brain although the soul influences the brain as well as the body
it's not the gut feeling either
The soul is what animates us, it's the spark of life that can only be extinguished by God
I believe in the immortality of the soul and I also believe in God's infinite power
If God wishes so, He can destroy souls as easily as He creates them
I don't believe this happens though, because God is also infinitely good and merciful

Do you have an inner monologue?
>>

Do you have an inner homunculus?

There's not really an agreed upon definition or idea of what a soul is, which is fine because the concept is unnecessary anyway. Though it can still be useful in a poetic sense.

I accept your concession

Why do you people say made up nonsense so confidently
