Just Weimar things

the suspected timeline is as such, if I remember correctly :
>suspect comes unto the property unseen and lives there for a while unseen by the owners and their aide
>strange occurences, like noises coming from the main home's attic or some disturbances in the barn they've shared with the locals and that could have clued them in that there was an intruder on-site was gathered, but were dismissed at the time individually
>suspect, either through being found or finally tiring of some perverted game of (unaware) cat and mouse decide to kill everyone on-site
>murder everyone violently
>proceed to live in the house amongst the corpses of the people he killed for a little while
>leave at an unspecified time after the murder
>a week passes and the locals start realizing that the Hinterkaifeck farm has been radio silent for more than a week now
>a party goes to investigate, and find the corpses
>the suspect is never caught, being at the time of the Weimar Republic, in the boonies, and with him having had ample time to skedaddle

The murdered victims' closest neighbor Lorenz Schlittenbauer (the police's prime suspect) is very likely the murderer.
>Had a weak alibi
>Had a strong motive
>Disturbed the bodies when they were found
>Was completely nonchalant about finding murdered people in the barn while the other two men who found them with him left the barn in shock
>Entered the house alone even though the murderer could have still been in there
>Had the missing key to the house and used it to open the locked door
>Tried to make himself inconspicuous when the police arrived
>Years after the murders a local teacher found him in the demolished farmstead
>Became very scared and confused when he was found there
>When asked why he was there he said that the murderer's attempt to bury the family’s remains in the barn had been hindered by the frozen ground
>The murder weapon found hidden in the attic being a farming tool and the livestock in the farm having been taken care of are clues that the murderer was a local farmer who knew how to handle both

His name was Sled-farmer???? How the heck did he get a name like that?

Its already solved retards

>andreas kills entire family in fit of rage (daughter just donated a lot of gold to the church a while ago)
>doesn't know how to dispose the bodies so just keeps it there
>small girl was shocked and sad but wasn't frightened enough to escape (thus the hair in fists thing)
>eats and shits like if nothing happened
>Lorenz Schlittenbauer comes to check the house and sees the bodies
>gets in fight with Andreas and kills him (thus the lesser traumatic injuries)
>flees and comes with a search party a few days later

Some police students solved the case and they revealed it was Andreas

>andreas kills entire family in fit of rage
Impossible. There was a big piece wood on top of the bodies in the barn including the body of Andreas. Also, why was the murder weapon hidden in the attic if it was murder-suicide? Andreas has no reason to care if people find out he was the murderer after he commits suicide, so why would he bother hiding the murder weapon?
>Some police students solved the case and they revealed it was Andreas
The said they determined who the murderer was but would not reveal his identity out of respect for his descendants living in the local area. That means it is not Andreas but most likely Lorenz Schlittenbauer.

I think you just started typing when you read half of it. I said Lorenz killed Andreas after he noticed all the bodies. The cattles fed till the discovery of bodies, calender dates ripped off daily and the dog uninjured and moving around till he gets a injury in his eye the day the bodies were found all indicate this.
The retard couldn't hide bodies because he couldn't hide the bodies due to the hard soil in winter thus why Lorenz Schlittenbauer told the teacher when he mysteriously visited the site a few years after. This was kind of a weird double murder and cops realized that there wasn't point to this as the family was dead and the remaining murderer only did a justifiable act. Sad that he died a bit young or he could've given his deathbed confession about this

Yes like it was both of them. They're just not revealing the stuff because Lorenz had a part in this but primarily it was andreas

What about all the strange things that went down in the farm before the murders? The footprints in the snow, the strange newspaper appearing out of nowhere, the key going missing, the toolshed showing signs that someone tried to break into it, etc. The first maid quit six months before the murders because she felt she was being watched and told the police that her door would sometimes open at night which scared her. She also heard footsteps in the attic. The police found human feces and hay stacked as a makeshift bed as well as other clear signs that someone was secretly living in the attic and watching the family while hiding there.

It was the girls partners that used to come and meet her. It was a common rural practice of bravia to knock on windows too show interest for a woman. Andreas knew and started fights with his daughter because he had sexual relations with her and everyone knew. He even went to jail because people believed the kid his daughter had was Andres'.

Maids whenever they felt a place was bothering them claimed it was haunted (like Sexual assaults by owner, fights, diseases or strange people coming in) just that if they wanted to leave they wouldn't get in problems for potential job opportunities. I live in a 3rd world country so I know, its better to call something haunted then act like a snitch so others won't want you working there. Plus the daughter was young so she didn't want to defame her by claiming others used to come and meet her there

I thought this was the best theory so I just copied this stuff from reddit

It's been a while since I read up on this
case, so I might get some small
details wrong, but I think Andreas
Gruber Q, the father/grandfather of
the other victims was the primary
killer and then someone else killed
him. He had a long, documented
history of abuse, rape, and controlling
behavior towards his family members
He was convicted for fathering at
least one of his daughter's children
He was also a miser who kept gold at
home, which was not stolen during the
murders, however his daughter,
Viktoria, donated a large amount of
gold to a local church shortly before
their deaths. Her daughter, 7 year old
Cazilia, also told her school teacher
that her mother had runaway from
home because her grandfather was
angry at her, but that he found her in
the woods and brought her back, right
before the murders as well. These
events may have made Andreas feel
that he was losing control of his
family, which could have triggered
family annihilator behavior

Some other evidence against Andreas
was that the murder weapon, a
mattock he used to slaughter pigs,
took a lot of practice to use. He had
inserted a nail on the back of the
mattock that he would use to stun
pigs, and this was used on most of the
victims (but not him). It would have
been too difficult for someone
unfamiliar with its use to do this, so
they would have been more likely to
use the axe side of the weapon. It
originally belonged to Schlittenbauer
&, the neighbor (and second most "
suspicious person in this case),
however it was Andreas who actually
added the nail, so Shlitteenbauer had
used it differently. The family also had
a dog that was very aggressive to
strangers, but was not only kept alive
by the killer, but moved from place to
place on a lead for several days after
the murders. It was not harmed when
people saw it initially after the
murders, but on the day the bodies
were discovered it had an eye injury
and was no longer on the lead but
shut in somewhere (this is a detail l've
forgotten, it might have been a
stables).

So for the first few days
think Andreas was continuing to use
his dog to warn him of intruders, but
then when he was killed, his murderer
had to deal with the dog and injured it
while locking it up. There was also a
calendar that Andreas tore a page off
of everyday, and the page was torn off
the day after the murders. Which an
intruder would have been unlikely to
do.
The 7 year old granddaughter (and
daughter through incest), Cazilia's
death was different from the others. I
can't remember exact|y, but I think she
was strangled and stabbed and likely
molested. With Andreas' history of
rape, incest, and abuse, my theory is
that he either was abusing her and
someone else interrupted, so he killed
them both and then decided to finish
off the rest of the family before it was
discovered.

Or else he decided to kill
them all but decided it was his "last
chance" to abuse Cazilia before he
did. Then a few days after he killed his
family, whoever Viktoria was involved
with at the time discovered the
murders, got into a fight with Andreas,
and killed him. Andreas had been very
upset to discover a newspaper, men's
footprints, and to have heard noises
about the property prior to the
murders, and I suspect this was
evidence of Viktoria's lover's visits,
since they would have had to sneak
around because Andreas didn't
approve of his daughter sleeping with
men other than himself. I don't think
he feared a murderer, I think he feared
Viktoria leaving with a lover, as she
had tried to do unsuccessfully before,
including having an affair with
Schlittenbauer.

There were rumors
that Schlittenbauer was the actual
father of Viktoria's youngest child,
Josef, rather than Andreas', which
also could have increased Andreas
anger towards his family.
Schlittenbauer seems a likely
candidate to have murdered Andreas,
since he was a past lover of Viktoria
and may have rekindled that
relationship in secret. He spent the
night of the murders "guarding the
hay" from thieves and leaving his wife
alone to give birth, which seems
suspicious, and I can see why so
many people think he killed the entire
family, as it is a weak alibi at best. It
also suggests a lot of disconnect from
his wife, since even if it wasn't
common for men to be present during
childbirth at the time, it does seem
strange that he wasn't even there to
get news or check up on things. But I
feel he was more likely just checked
out of his marriage and possibly
having another affair.
If he went to see
her again a few days after the birth
and discovered Viktoria and the child
that was possibly his were dead, it
could have motivated him to confront
and kill Andreas. Schlittenbauer also
sent his teenage son and friends to
check on the Grubers, which is how
they discovered the bodies. He may
have sent them to make it seem like
he wasn't involved in the crimes, and
so he could control when the
discovery would be made. When he
then arrived on the scene he went into
the house alone and was noted to
have moved things around,
contaminating the crime scene. It
definitely makes him seem guilty, but
it doesn't really indicate if he
committed all of the murders or just
one.
The maid who quit right before the
murders had recently had an
illegitimate baby taken away from her,
and had complained of men coming
to the windows at night, which was
apparently a common dating practice
in that region and area.
>>
>>18123046
It's possible
she might have been annoyed at
Viktoria's visitor(s), particularly if
Andreas tended to react violently
towards their discovery. Complaining
of the house being "haunted" when
she left was also commonly code for
servants to warn others of an
unpleasant employer, without having
to admit anything that could come
back negatively on them. She would
not have been able to complain about
abuse or threats from Andreas
without harming her ability to be
employed by other families. So I think
her descriptions were intentionally
vague. She claimed the father of her
baby was a disabled man in town, but
considering she lived with an abusive
rapist, I wouldn't be surprised of it was
actually Andreas'. There isn't anyway
to know, but the house seemed like a
miserable situation for her regardless
This is really long, but it's just such an
interesting and tragic case. It's such a
shame Viktoria wasn't able to get
away from her father and his abuse.
She was even convicted of incest
along with him even though it was
clearly never consensual.

With her
father's track record of rape, abuse,
and controlling behavior, to the point
of not even letting his adult daughter
move out of the household and have
normal relationships, he seems
exactly like the sort of person who
would be capable of killing his entire
family
