So what's the moral of the story?
I read somewhere that this story was actually changed down the line. Original story was his son was really sacrificed for Yahweh. It is said that customs demanded people sacrifice their first born to Yahweh.Makes sense that a God who demands foreskins also demands child sacrifice.
>>18122140The pic in the OP clearly says The Book of Job.
>>18122220sorry i was talking about sacrifice of Abraham's son
>>18122131You will face seemingly nonsensical suffering but if you don't abandon God, he will not abandon you either. There are more lessons, especially in how Job relates to his friends and their theories but even there it seems to be that the core motif is that Job's friends leaped to whatever explanation they liked, whereas Job refused to make a leap and called on God. And God ultimately answers and makes all the suffering worth it.
>>18122131Life's full of pointless suffering and if supernatural entities exist, then they are sick fucks who enjoy our suffering.
>>18122131>So what's the moral of the story?Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
>>18122261>and makes all the suffering worth itYeah, his old family was totally lame compared to the new family he got after God allowed them all to be killed by satan to fuck with him. Totally worth!Honestly, this story is the quintessential example of the psychopathic mentality of hebrews.
God is evil.
>>18122140The real redpill is that circumcission is a substitute for killing your firstborn, which was common in the region.
>>18122140Proof?
>>18122261>makes all the suffering worth it.bad take imothe story seems to imply that there's always more. suffering is, and you can find a million different reasons to justify the suffering (everything from the universe is cruel to you must have personally done something to deserve this), but that doesn't change the fact that the suffering exists and has occurred. the only thing to really do is to move forward in spite of the suffering. the world is vast, and in the grand scheme of things, do you really know what role you play in all of this? maybe it's bad temporarily. maybe it's bad because there will be some good coming. maybe it's bad now and it's about to become a lot worse later. you don't know, you can't know, and even if you managed to gain some sort of omniscient power, you'd probably still end up confused because your reasoning skills are still the same. you can wallow in misery and do nothing. you can work with your friends and find someone to blame. it doesn't change anything. what happened, happened. take a moment to lament, pick up the pieces, and try to continue to do as much good as you can. maybe it's a fool's errand. maybe not.
God will shit on you to prove a point to Satan(one of his agents).
>>18122572Modern day jews mimic this behavior as well:>Look how much we can shit on these goyim and they still worship us lmao
>>18122140Youre thinking of the binding of osaac, not job. And yes, there are rabbincal theories that isaac was originally sacrificied, and that the isaac who lives on was a different isaac or his brother. Jews claim lots of crazy shit in the rabbi though, like that ham was cursed ro be black because he raped abraham in the booty hole, and the whole nakedness thing is just a metaphor
>>18122131God's unconditional love for humanity, and humanity's inability to reciprocate that love. Human beings are incapable of just loving God inherently, with no side benefit or reward of any kind. This was demonstrated by Job having everything that he could be grateful for taken away, and not beling capable of loving God still.
