There are tons of Mormon feminists and pro-LGBT members who are petitioning the leadership to ordain gay marriages and to focus on teaching about Heavenly Mother, among other things, and many liberals stay in the church because they believe having a living prophet means that the church should be progressive. The only reason that these reforms haven't been adopted is because the leadership is comprised of 90-year olds, but it's only a matter of time.
