Pretty much all slander of him are Communist and Islamist lies. He was literally a philosopher king, the ideal ruler according to Plato

According to actual sources, only 3,000 people were imprisoned during his entire reign and most of them are the same jihadists who currently run Iran, including the current supreme leader. So the “both the Shahanshah and Ayatollah are equally bad” crowd can GTFO

Contrary to popular belief, the imperial government actually attempted to reduce illiteracy. In 1925, the literacy rates were only less than 5% and by 1979, it was over 50%. Today's Iran having high literacy rates is only due to institutions that the Shahanshah put in place

In 1979 the poverty rates were 20% and today it's 40%. While there was significant poverty, the imperial government at least made actual attempts to eradicate it via the White Revolution. Nowadays, the Islamic Republic meanwhile doesn't even acknowledge the mass poverty rates in Iran and instead focuses all funds towards funding Shia militias like Hezbollah and Houthis as well as building more mosques than needed
>mUh 1953 CiA cOuP
He was already Shahanshah before 1953 as he was crowned back in 1941 as the successor to his father. Iran wasn't even democratic before 1953 as the Shahanshah has always held insane executive authority for 2,500 years. While it did have a constitution since 1907, being a constitutional monarchy doesn't make a state democratic (see the German Empire). Mossadegh wasn't even “democratically elected” as he was appointed directly by the Shahanshah, not elected. Also, the coup was already being planned by the Iranian armed forces before the CIA got involved due to Mossadegh refusing to step down after the Shahanshah ordered him to (the constitution allowed the Shahanshah to do this btw)

He was openly critical of Israel, the whole "hE wAs A zIoNiSt PuPpEt" line comes from retarded jihadists who believe that anyone who doesn't follow their specific ideology is automatically “Zionist”
>mUh 1979 ReVoLuTiOn
He was overthrown by Islamists and only because of his secularism. His land reforms via the White Revolution destroyed feudal remnants and stripped the clergy of their privileges and they threw a temper tantrum about it. Look up the Cinema Rex fire, Islamists set fire to a cinema and blamed the Shahanshah for it

It's funny that liberals act as if overthrowing him was good when in reality the 1979 "revolution" was one of the only successful RIGHT-WING, conservative revolutions in history, by radical far-right religious extremists. But I guess as long as the person they overthrow is pro-West it's okay, right?

Believe that is more of a leftist thing. Consider the pro-NATO liberals.
