If drug usage was so common in the past such as medicine in the late 19th/early 20th centuries and it's widespread adoption by the wehrmacht during ww2, Why was there no MASSIVE epidemic of junkies afterwards? And how did they tolerate withdrawals?
Not as potent but there were multiple drug epidemics before the 70's, the cocaine epidemic in the late 19th and early 20th century is notable.

Junkies were typically ignored or shunned by society and there wasn't much research happening at that time anyway. Also it was taboo and even unknown among certain social circles, so some junkies were considered eccentric or brain damaged
>>18130978Way less potent drugs. The weed edibles you can get today are like being punched in the face.
>>18130978There's a difference between taking drugs because you're a lazy piece of shit that just wants a hit of dopamine and taking drugs because you're getting shot at
>>18130978They locked in. North Koreans are doing recreational meth and they will just flat-out tell you that you gotta more or less sleep for almost 3 days straight during some of it.
>>18130978People become addicts because of mental illness or trauma. It's literally a coping mechanism. People are so stupid.
>>18130978Correct. There has NEVER been a time in Chinese history where there were lots of drug addicts
>>18130978Addiction is a personality. The government giving you UberDrugs for combat is not something you are personally engaging in out of an addictive personality. When the war is over you do not go seeking UberDrugs again because you do not have an addictive personality.
