This + the Septuagint is the only way to read it.

If you're not on the King James, you're not even in the game spiritually.

I'm ESL and it isn't hard at all honestly. Well I admit English is my liturgical language but still

>Enjoy Hell.
For what? The text was written in Koine Greek and the Apostles/New Testament authors used the Septuagint.
>>
If you're not using the 1611 first edition exclusively you're already damned.
If the letter J is in your Bible you are going to hell.

It's Iesus, not Jesus.
J is a fake letter that usurped G and I. Every time you see the letter J, know that in it's place should be either a G or an I.
Without fail, literally every single time.

Shills don't want you to even know the LXX exists because it cramps the style of the anciently edited (per Justin Martyr) Masoretic orthodox Jew version they rely on.

Of course the LXX is good, it teaches you how to understand the Koine Greek of the new testament.

It was good enough for the apostles, but not good enough for Baptists.
Who call it a product of the "Alexandrian cult."
They prefer to get their holy book from non-Christians who call themselves the successors of the Pharisees instead.

But, and ISYN, they just completely ignore the parts of the MS that don't have the prophecy of Jesus as Christ and insert the LXX version of those readings instead without a SINGLE moment of self reflection.

I taught myself Koine (well, paid a ridiculous amount of money to go to classes over a few years) to be able to actually read the Bible as the early Christians did. Having learned it there's no reason for me to use any translation which always compromise on the text itself. I really do believe that you don't actually understand the Bible if you can't read Koine Greek.

>the Apostles/New Testament authors used the Septuagint.
No, they didn't.
>The text was written in Koine Greek
You don't speak Greek.

For being an heretick. Those flames just got hotter.

That's because you aren't indwelled with the Holy Ghost. Probably because you decided to trust in yourself rather than Jesus to save you. Enjoy burning.

Congrats, you just called Jesus Christ, the Apostle Joh, and King James homosexuals. Care to guess how that affected the flames in your little corner of Hell?

Oh, not to mention you /threaded your own post. What a worthless little termite you are. The world will be much better off once you have the decency to die.

I literally just pronounce the letters as they are on the page out loud.
Have found that helps me understand what it says, and have found out there are far more Greek loanwords in English than I first imagined. Which helps a lot.

Now, my comprehension is okay for someone without any formal training whatsoever in Koine Greek.
Not good though.
But mostly I am also blessed to have online resources available so I can break down verses word by word.

You're not even a real Christian.
Merely pretending, as it were. A shill, there are still some of us out there who see you for what you are.
That's why you accuse others of what you are guilty of.

The LXX was widely popular during the earthly life of Christ.

Hellenistic Jews were everywhere, they were probably a majority of Jews at the time.
Philip and Andrew are Greek names.
The Greeks mentioned in John approached them specifically when seeking to meet Jesus, because they understood their language.

What they didn't expect was Jesus addressing them directly and name dropping the Archon of the Kosmos.

the "enjoy hell" forced meme shill calls anon a troll ITT

Then why are all of the New Testament quotations of the Old using the Septuagint?
>You don't speak Greek
Whatever makes you feel better.
>For being an heretick. Those flames just got hotter.
Why are you using the Masoretic Text when it was literally formulated by rabbis a thousand years after Christ?
>>18174611
>That's because you aren't indwelled with the Holy Ghost. Probably because you decided to trust in yourself rather than Jesus to save you. Enjoy burning.
If you're using a translation you are, by definition, not reading the actual words as written and promulgated by the Apostles and the Evangelists. There's no way around this.
>>18174644
Online resources are good but I never really was able to learn like that. Thankfully I lived near a place that offers classes on it and I was lucky enough to be able to attend.
>>18174651
It's one of the worst forced-memes on the board and I'm mostly convinced that there's just one guy but a bunch of copycat fags who are doing it to just piss people off. The actual guy isn't bad, he's alright, but the guys that do it just to troll are annoying.

Shakespearian garbage

Most English speakers nowadays don't understand the English in the KJV. Jude 22 is a good example of this, where the phrase used there had a completely different meaning back then compared to how we understand it nowadays.
>And of some have compassion, making a difference
Let's test our understanding anons, what do you think "making a difference" means here?

Kill yourself (proper response), mason trash can. Just kill yourself.

Having distinction..? So have compassion on some, but do so with discernment, treat different cases differently.
>>
>>18174667
>Then why
I'm not explaining anything to you; You are far, FAR too mentally retarded to understand the answer. And that's if you hadn't already decided that you hate God. You're going to Hell, forever. Enjoy.

>Why are you using the Masoretic Text
The KJV is translated from the Hebrew original, which differs in some places from the Masoretic text actually. The KJV source text has the tetragrammaton in Malachi 1:12 as an example (see pic), while the MT has the Hebrew word "Adonai" in that place.

>Then why are all of the New Testament quotations of the Old using the Septuagint?
Matthew 2:23 quotes exclusively from the Hebrew original text of Hosea 11:1. The Hebrew text of Hosea 11:1 says "my son" instead of "children" plural as the Septuagint does.

John 19:37 quotes exclusively from the Hebrew original text of Zechariah 12:10. The Hebrew text of Zechariah 12:10 says "they shall look upon him whom they have pierced" instead of "they shall look on him whom they have mocked" as the Septuagint does.

These two extremely important examples of the Gospel writers quoting the Old Testament from the Hebrew text destroy your claim. There are many more examples like these. On the other hand, there are no definitive examples of the other way around.

The above is especially true since the modern Septuagintal text was edited by Origen in the 3rd century AD and the original legend of the seventy translators (in the BC era) only involved the books of Moses being translated. You are being historically illiterate, both literally and figuratively, if you do not understand or recognize this and instead choose to persist in your presently apparent ignorance of facts.

>Matthew 2:23
Should be Matthew 2:15 here, my mistake. Matthew quotes from Hosea 11:1 in the Hebrew form, while the Septuagint mistranslated the singular "son" into plural "children" (Greek τέκνα).

Only the Hebrew form of Hosea 11:1 says "son" singular as Matthew quotes it in Matthew 2:15.
