Why didn't the Conquistadors conquer Japan and then proceed to import African and Indian labor to grow cash-crops, destroying native Japanese demographics and culture in the process, leading to modern Japan being a narco-state terrorized by Criollo drug lords?

1. The Japanese were more advanced and literate than pretty much any other non-euro, non-ottoman civilization, they were living in roughly the equivalent of medieval Europe, as opposed to the unga bunga retard civs the Portuguese did this to.

2. The Japanese were on the other side of the planet, around a giant continent and then across the bottom of another giant continent. Much more difficult to get to than, say, Brazil, and much further away from the African slaves they shipped there.

The Spanish and Portuguese had very different priorities. The Portuguese were mostly interested in trade. The Spanish got cocky after so easily conquering Mesoamerica and the Philippines. The Portuguese Jesuits denounced them after they shipwrecked in Japan and started bragging about their empire

Most of the crew on the Japan voyage were lascars from Goa and Malacca. There is no evidence that Yasuke was African. He could've just been a very dark skinned Indian or Malay. Explains why he was able to grasp Japanese relatively easy in a short time. Although African slaves were present in Japan throughout the Nanban trade and later with the Dutch in Dejima

It's not like the Spanish had such a technological advantage that they could just conquer anyone. Really the whole Spanish conquest of America was due to very lucky timing. The continent was just reaching that period when the first large empires were forming, but they don't yet have the good institutions to keep up their legitimacy, which means empires hated by most of their subjects and ready for revolts and collapse at the first push. Which is what happened to the Aztecs and Incas. The Spanish got their subject to ally with them, took over the existing empire (mostly using native allies), and installed themselves as the new rurels. And then most of the natives subjects died of smallpox.

Then they got more to the North and encountered tribes who showed some resistace and they kicked the Spanish out (before mostly dying from smallpox too). So the Spanish couldn't even beat tribes who were nowhere comparable to the large, organized Aztec and Inca states when they fought back.

Japan was much more populated, more technologically advanced, immune to smallpox, and didn't have a hated empire they could just take over.

> Japanese swordsmiths spend years working on a single katana, folding it up to a million times to produce the finest blades known.
> Katanas are three times sharper and three times harder than European swords. Anything a longsword can cut, a katana cuts better. I'm pretty sure a katana could easily cleave a fully armored knight in two with a single vertical slash.
> Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered to conquer Japan? That's right, they were too afraid to fight the disciplined samurai and their katanas of destruction. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted katana-wielding men first because their lethal power was both feared and respected.

What I'm trying to say is, katanas are simply the best swords the world has ever seen. This is a fact, and you can't deny it.

Conquistadors failed to conquer many other states and tribes (in America too)
Their conquests in America had large element of luck when they arrived to confront already weak States.

Population was bigger than spain and portugal put together, and they had steel weapons and armor, and also horses, and a history of cavalry warfare older than Spain and Portugal's kingdoms. Also they knew about gunpowder weapons. A savage in south America would have no frame of reference for a firearm, but the Japanese figured them out very quickly and were able to mass produce them from a single firearm obtained via trade.

If Spain sent a force of conquistadors to Japan they'd find hundreds of thousands of veteran warriors capable of fielding guns against them and happy to ride circles around them with cavalry archers. They'd be cut to pieces in a week.

Nonsense. Veteran warriors from a 800 years constant battle of Reconquista. That's the reason of their success (and of the tercios, that obliterate true western and eastern powers: France, England, Dutch rebels, Ottomans... not Vietnam).

No one has ever attempted a purge of California aside from American gold miners thirsty for blood and gold

It’s the only successful “purge” I know of and it failed to eliminate all Native/Spanish blood which was already mixed by that point

Those who mixed races early survived the disease waves due to immunity

Simply put, when someone has arrived in California, the blood doesn’t leave at a rate of 100% unless its a world ending scenario, which we haven’t seen in California recently

The Philippines was not primitive. People from Luzon Island "Luções" were the favored soldiers of maritimes Southeast Asia.

(Lisbon, 1551) Vol. 1, pp. 201–205 (Livro V, cap. 34), Malacca garrison (1511–20s); wrote as such:

Portuguese records show Lução soldiers in every garrison of Malaca, prized for their seamanship and ferocity in skirmishes with the Johor fleet.

The History of the Portuguese in India, vol. 3, London 1777) Vol. 3, pp. 102–105 (Década III, Livro I, cap. XIV) Malacca (c. 1525) & Perak, the following:

A fleet of twelve Luçon caracoas under the same leader joined the Brunei armada against Lawé. Their knowledge of these coasts was unmatched, and they bore the brunt of the assault.

In fact, before the Spanish came the Filipinos significantly aided the Siamese in their war against Burma, before thr Siamese invaded Cambodia, which the Filipinos, under the Spanish encountered.

Diogo do Couto wrote in, Décadas da Ásia (Lisbon, 1778) Vol. 5, pp. 95–100 (Década VIII, Livro II, cap. V) Siam (1547); this of them:

Under their chief Balagtas, 300 Luções fought for the King of Siam against Burmese invaders—so effective that the Siamese granted them land.

>Why didn't the Conquistadors conquer Japan

Because the conquistadors were looking for El Dorado with his gold-bearing rivers, with his gold mines and mountains' gold ores, not the islands where the Japanese poor grow rice and eat fish raw because they do not have firewood to roast or boil it.
