>The CPC destroyed chinese history!!111!!
>Meanwhile the Cultural Revolution was literally a Legalist revolution in which hundreds of millions of Legalist texts were printed and handed out by the party to people, the most popular texts of the cultural revolution were
The Book of Lord Shang and Han Feizi and Criticize Lin, Criticize Confucius.
>Mao himself was a Classical poet (considered one of the greatest of Chinese history) who was a massive Cao Cao/Wei fag.
When Deng game in, he asserted Daoism as the core "chinese" aspect of Chinese Socialism
>“Observe calmly, secure our position, cope with matters calmly, conceal our capacities and bide our time, be good at maintaining a low profile, and never take the lead.” - Deng Xiaopeng
This is a classic expression of Daoist thought from the Tao Te Ching.
Deng Xiaopeng also noted that the theory of contradiction and dialectics is a key component of Daoist philosophy.
>“Cross the river by feeling the stones,”
>“It doesn’t matter whether a cat is black or white, as long as it catches mice,”
Other Daoist quotes often used by Deng.
I love Western narratives on China because it's clear as fuck that Westoids do not understand China, how much history matters in China, and how important the role of Classical Chinese thought plays on Chinese Governance even with the Communist Party.
Not a shocker though from brainlet Westoids who consistantly rank history as the most pointless and boring subject in polling.

I don't doubt that the Chinese are more concerned with history than Westerners, but that really is not saying much. China's connection to their history is Renaissance faire-tier. It's there, but very tacky, and very distorted. They're very quick to bring up their "five thousand years" of history but I doubt they could name a single Tang emperor, and the only way their understanding of history effects them today is in the overwhelming inferiority complex towards the West that the Qing's failure impressed upon them.

>Westerners don't really care about history
Facts, most people don't except for groups that don't want to die off.

Chinese history is just like western history. Lots of tricks and backstabbing but also gentlemanly honor based people of higher ideals.
There are really lots of similarities with thier history. Cultural cross pollination must have been more prevalent than we give it credit for.

Chink Chink Chinaman you say? Never heard of her.

It sounds more like they're just capable of cherrypicking certain historical events to 'prove' muh 6,000 years of unbroken tradition.

As the other anon says, can they actually name a single Tang emperor?

This is from the Age of Extremes by Hobsbawm.
