Why did the Soviet Union fail to capture any of the relevant lands necessary for prosperity and global influence? Even with their gains in Eastern Europe most of it was of indirect control and Denmark/Germany (kek) controlled their shipping

Soviets literally grabbed the largest country on Earth, you absolute turnip. They seized the entire resource-dumping-ground of Siberia, the oil of the Caspian, the breadbasket of Ukraine, and enough nuke/gulag sites to last a thousand years. That was prosperity and influence for them. They didn't need Copenhagen's docks when they had Vladivostok and Murmansk.
>>
>>18222745
Because they couldn't manage resources because socialism is fucking abysmal at resource management
>>
>>18222746
Their “influence” barely extended outside of their own borders. Soviet pop culture even before its collapse was always irrelevant

>Soviets literally grabbed the largest country on Earth
Russians changing the name of the Russian Empire isn't 'grabbing a country' kek
>>
>>18222745
The soviets were too timid to just take what they wanted. They also knew how incompetent and dysfunctional they were. They punished commanders for being too standoffish and shat themselves when a standoff went slightly wrong.

>Russians
Bronstein, Dzhugashvili, Dzerzhinsky etc. There's something un-russian about all those "russians"
>>
>>18222745
Because russoids are sub homo.

They have a fat chunk of the Earth's Uranium and a Nuclear/medical isotope sector to work off it. France has to hustle for Uranium like a poor man, several states like Canada have some Nuclear plants, While others like Australia, Niger and Namibia have no power plants of their own.

>socialism is fucking abysmal at resource management
Nah. It's just a traditional Russian empire thing. Same like Anglosphere states pretty much having a tendency for infrastructure and institutional neglect.
>>
>>18222752
As opposed to Russian pop culture since the USSR fell. Which peaked in global relevance with...some roasties pretending to be lez
>>

All those names are Russian though.

The problem with Russia is that people instinctively equate big territory=strong country, further compounded by how translating an orb into a plane make them look even bigger than they truly are.
By the end of the day Russia is what you get when you conquer dozens of low tier countries while having a border with Europe, you will have lots of slaves and raw resources you can sell to buy the items and knowledge to pretend you are a westerner too. No, you are not, you are just a buttbroken asian larping the worst aspects of western civilization right up to burning away all your country's advantages and potential through communism and your bullied-becomes-bully mentality courtesy of the mongols. This is why russian opinions are worthless, they are either lies, pretentious, petty or utterly alien.
And before you all ask, I am neither an anlfag or some butthurt belt dweller, I am just some spic. I really don't have a stack when it comes to all the contemporary conondrums the world has with Russia, it's simply what I have observed after years of reading their culture, history and interacting with them, a thirdie can easily detect another thirdie and russian ARE thirdies.
