I am currently reading through the old testament and have just finished the book of Esther. I must admit that the further I progress into the bible the less sense it makes. Esther and Mordecai lie to the king about her being a jew, then when Haman tries to kill all the jews for beings jews and doing all the evil jew shit they have been doing for literally the entire old testament. Esther uses the kings feelings for her to manipulate the king into not killing all the jews and also to give Hamans position to mordecai and all of his shit. Then she further manipulates him into allowing the jews to just kill whoever they want or declare an enemy , basically all the people who were geeked up for kill jews day that Haman planned. God or his influence is essentially not mentioned a single time nor is he present in the book at all. My question is , what gives? Also in the book of job the story boils down to essentially " Job lost all his shit but never gave up on god so he got all his shit back " but then at the exact same time were told not to care about shit in the material world so why is Jobs reward for his faith getting his shit back when god says dont care about shit? Also when David is instructed to number the people in Israel it is YHWH who tells him to do this but later it is revealed in chronicles that Satan is the one who made David to sin and number the people of Israel?
