One example being Trotsky would have supplied and supported the communists in Spain far more than Stalin did possibly leading to a communist Spain. Him not purging all of the competent general staff also would mean Russia could fight Germany on better footing, possibly leading to better gains in Europe and less people dying.

nothing could have prevented what happened in the modern world today:that is the complete and total disenfranchisement, and exile from society of communists, fascists and other extremists who are hostile to the western neoliberal status quo.the annihilation of the third position (fascism, natsoc, falangism) movements in world war 2 eliminated the possibility of an alternative to the western (american) neoliberal capitalism and the eastern (communist) soviet block, and set up the groundwork required for the cold war, this multipolar world of west (usa/britain) vs east (ussr/china) and neoliberalism vs socialism in geopolitics, both being controlled by jewish elites on every side.but the americans slowly won this ideological war and spread neoliberalism everywhere especially when they assassinated socialist politicians around the world, even in china where capitalism (state capitalism) now dominates, and obviously modern russia isnt communist/socialist in any way, putin is entirely a neoliberal shill.what this entails is the modern neoliberal capitalist status quo ideology, which secretly wishes to retain power forever, does not allow any political extremist party that could threaten the neoliberal order, its no wonder when the 2nd biggest political ideology in the west "neoconservatism" is essentially neoliberalism with slightly more authoritarianism on social issues and slightly less authoritarianism on economic issues, that is the most extreme ideology the neoliberal dictatorship will allow you.I do not see any alternative ever becoming popular, ever being allowed to gain power without being banned/assassinated/waged war on etc. (see afd, greek golden dawn)the death of communism especially, will never be reversed, all true communists will be annihilated by the capitalists in power.In many ways world war 2 was truly the fight for the west's soul, and the british empire failed when they didnt side with europe's last hope.
