How do I learn Old Church Slavonic?

(Fun Fact: Prior to Vatican II the Catholic Church gave a special dispensation to the Croatian Church to celebrate the Tridentine Mass in Old Church Salvonic rather than in Latin).

Learn it if you're interested in its history, a lot of valuable texts are preserved in Church Slavonic, aside from that though it's a boring language and you're better off going to a Divine Liturgy to memorize the more important words, phrases, and hymns. I had a course offered at my university, but I took another language over it, so it just depends on what you have available in your environment. There are countless books available on Library Genesis that will teach you. Focus on aligning yourself with the truth more than with a particular culture though. Kyrillos and Methodios came from Konstantioupoli to express a truth the Slavs that they knew in Greek. The truth is beautiful in every language because it is a reflection of our Lord and God. Be well, OP.

The divine liturgy I attend does everything in vernacular (Byzantine Catholic) and I don't know any holy languages. Neither Latin nor Greek nor Old Church Salvonic. Can you link me resources, fren?
