Is the pickelhaube the most iconic piece of equipment from WWI?
>>18225921You said "piece of equipment" which is pretty broad, I would argue the Colt 1911 has it beat to be honest
>>18225921>YWN impale an anglo on your helmet spikeWhy live?
>>18225923Is that like a rifle or something? I don't think anyone outside of USA thinks US weapons are at all iconic. Kar98 is more iconic.
>>18225921The Pickelhaube is a meme for Wehrbs. The most iconic equipment is the fucking trench. Trench foot, mud, rats, MG08s mowing down waves of dumbfucks, artillery shells raining down for four years straight. The Pickelhaube was already being phased out for the Stahlhelm by 1916 because it was a ceremonial cosplay helmet that offered zero protection.
>>18225926Your ragebait has been acknowledged sir
>>18225927>Not demoralizing enemies on the battlefield with your superior fashionThe day they replaced the pickelhaube is the day Germany truly died
>>18225921No.
>>18225921Wrong.>>18225932>>18225927Correct. Every nation used the German steel helmet during both world wars and after for a while.
>>18225921Chemical shells are the defining weapon of WWI for most people.
>>18225921It's almost certainly the most iconic piece of armor from WWI, but probably not the most iconic piece of equipment
>>18225932I prefer the spiked helmet over the steel helmet honestly
>>18225921I would say it's barbed wire.
