>Has no military experience or training
>Still manages to beat the French, Americans, and Chinese
how did he do it?
>>
>>18241391
He got his ass beat by the french, then learned from it and adapted. That's literally it.
>>
>>18241391
I think jungle and Vietnamese being disciplined and smart helped him
>>
>>18241391
Because tropical diseases and the jungle sauna climate torment every foreigner.

Without exceptions.

Vietnamese arent more disciplined than other people, you need to instill discipline as a military leader.
>>
Excerpts from the confidential letter from General Francisco Franco to President Lyndon B Johnson.(in response of the petition for spanish aid to the american intervention in Vietnam):

"Because of my military and political experience, I am in a position to appreciate the great difficulties which the task you have undertaken involves: the guerrilla warfare in the jungle is decidedly favorable to subversive native elements and allows them to contain superior forces with only a small number of troops; the most powerful weapons would lose their effectiveness against small scattered objectives; there are no vital objectives to destroy to put an end to the struggle; established communications are held on to precariously and only through the deployment of great number of troops. It would be very difficult to defeat subversion with conventional weapons. War in the jungle is an unlimited adventure.

On the other hand, although acknowledging the unavoidable consideration of your country’s prestige which might be involved, it would not be possible to disregard the conflict’s possible immediate consequences. Lengthening the war, would serve to impel the Vietnamese into becoming an easy prey for Chinese imperialism, and even assuming that the strength of the Vietcong could be broken, the sporadic attack of the guerrillas would continue for a long time and would therefore demand a prolonged military occupation of a country where you would always be regarded as foreigners. The results evidently would not seem to compensate the sacrifices entailed.
[...]
I do not know Ho Chi Minh, but in view of his record and his efforts to expel the Japanese, first, the Chinese next, and the French later, we must give him credit for being a patriot who cannot be indifferent to the annihilation of his country. And apart from his well-known reputation as being a tough adversary, he could, without doubt, be the man of the hour needed by Vietnam."

He lost both the Tet offensive and Eastern offensive with very heavy losses. He fucking sucked.

Tet was a strategic victory for the North Vietnamese thoughalbeit

He read Lawrence of Arabia's autobiography, but i dont see how that could be applicable to a war in a jungle 50 years later

What are you talking about, he had two years living with chicom guerrillas and then three years setting up a vietnamese resistance movement against the japs (with half a year of training by the OSS). Once the japs were turfed out the viet minh were sending thousands of their best recruits to chicom china for training, with china sending advisors to support the vietminh against the french

>jejeje, all zese parasites will not infest me as I am a spaniard!
>>

The Vietnamese, more than anything else, have a culture seeped in fighting colonizers and literally don't give a fuck if they die because they'd rather have that than live under the thumb of someone else. They've demonstrated this attitude for like 2,000 years straight.

For the 55,000 Americans and 20,000 French who died in Vietnam, 3~ million Vietnamese died.

The conquistadors rarely went into the amazon and the natives would run to the amazon to escape their slavery.
The people of the amazon were enslaved last the conquistadors only explored the amazon by the river and they would mostly prey on settlements built around it.

señor the based trad conquistadors didn't enslave anyone and if they did they deserved it o algo

>Member of a paramilitary political party.
>Was trained in military strategy & tactics by Chinese Communisms when him & Ho Chi Minh ran to China after the French outlawed communism in their colonies in 1940.
>Went back home to fight France alongside Japs. Then fought occupying Japs.
>Literally Spent 1941-1949 fighting Japs, Frenchies, then Japs again, then finally the Frogs.
>Advised by Soviets & Chinese constantly.
>Spent the 1950s fighting against South Vietnam.

By the time Giap fought Sharts in the 60s & 70s he already had 20 years worth of battlehardened experience.

The chinese communists literally lived in mudhuts and had medieval era tech, that's like saying getting into fistfights with hobos is equal to getting olympic boxing training
>>
>>18242344
Yes, they won the chinese civil war though their strategic use of trebuchets and heavy cavalry against the ineffective mortars and submachine guns of the kuomintang

Really need that rangeban on the third world
>>
>>18242344
Chinese Communist military leaders literally graduated from the same military academy as KMT officers and until 1928, belonged to the same army.

That still meant they had more military training & combat experience than Vietnamese Commies in the 30s, who had 0.

That infantryman looks like George Floyd

Viet commies received training from the USA and ex-IJAs who were stuck in Indochina

TA Lawrence didnt really know what he was doing either in terms of guerilla warfare, he just made stuff up on the fly. He didnt have official training in guerilla warfare.

Mao is a better example, he was well educated but had no experience with military training

Ho Chi Minh was not anti-China.

Ho even restrained Viet Minh from attacking Chinese troops who occupied north Vietnam from 1945-1946 and supplied them.with food.

Ho turned over Vietnamese for execution after they attacked Chinese soldiers.
>>

Ho Chi Minh was a moderate to all parties contrary to popular misconception.

Ho wasn't anti-China or anti-America.

A Frenchman Paul Mus fabricated the quote about Ho wanting to eat French dung instead of Chinese shit.

When Chinese troops occupied Vietnam in 1945-1946, Ho repeatedly forbade Vietmamese guerillas from attacking them and gave them food supplies.

Ho even executed Vietnamese who attacked Chinese soldiers.

Ho wanted to make sure the French didn't return, he was fine with the Chinese troops unlike what the fake quote says.

Ho Chi Minh wanted a negotiated settlement with South Vietnam and the US and was not intent on unifying Vietmam with war.

Ho Chi Minh got internally coupled by Le Duan who then took control of Vietnam's communist party and turned Ho into a powerless puppet.

Ho Chi Minh was forced to do whatever Le Duan said until he died.

Le Duan was running North Vietnam during the war with South Vietnam

Ho never had strong convictions against anyone, he just wanted France out

Aztec empire was on a lake and Inca empire was on the mountains.

Neither were in the jungle.

Mayan cities were in jungles and Spanish took two centuries to conquer all Mayan city states.
