I think the Canadian Corps in ww1 deserve their place in history among some of the greatest fighting formations. I remember thinking that vimy ridge was just a footnote battle and that it's importance was overstated (which is true), but I failed to look further into the later battles the corps would be involved in and their role in orchestrating and acting as the vanguard of the assaults that would eventually lead to the collapse of the german front lines and lead to the end of the war. I don't think i'm out of line when I list them among some of the most notable units in history.Alexander's Companion CavalryCeasar's Tenth legionCharlemagne's caballariiNapoleon's Old GuardCurie's Canadian Corps
