Is it valid, and licit, for Christians to overthrow and subvert governments that get in the way of the Church's mission?The Jesuits specialized in this sort of thing before they were suppressed. It got the Catholic Church into quite a lot of trouble. But did they have a point? If a political entity makes itself an obstacle to the preaching of the Gospel and the conversion of souls to Christ, isn't there an argument to be made that that entity has got to go? Even if it's the government of a nation-state?
