There's no way for Japan to hold Manchuria as the US will absolutely not allow them to keep their military no matter what and even if they did allowed the IJA to remain, the war with China would just continue in Manchuria.Communist victory in China would have been significantly more difficult without Manchuria's industry, possibly impossible if the KMT took effective control over it (extremely unlikely without strong US support) and would have led to a now divided China or simply a much longer and bloodier civil war before KMT defeat. US would occupy all of Korea without the Soviet invasion so no divided Korea regardless of a communist victory in China.
