Which one of the OG13 was the strongest?
>>18244143the constitution is the way it is because a lot of its framers were afraid of virginia having an outright majority of the country's population, that's why for instance the port preference clause was added, which forbids congress from passing laws that require ships to stop at one port (say newport Virginia) over another (like baltimore Maryland)
>>18244143Virginia followed by Massachusetts
>>18244143Virginia. Quite literally founded the United States, wrote the Bill of Rights, wrote the Constitution, had the highest population, singlehandedly won the Ohio Country for the U.S, conquered/populated the Old Southwest (everything south of the Ohio River), had the first Thanksgiving, and has defined essentially every single aspect of American musical/folk culture. Virginia IS America. Massachusetts is an afterthought at best.
>>18244216Too bad it's Democrat territory today LOL those commies
>>18244238Democrats are okay on econ issues but they're fucking terrible on social issues/immigration.I miss blue dog dems/dixiecrats.
What's with this map? Florida was a colony like Georgia at the time, and both of them were loyal to the Crown. Also wasn't Delaware still part of Penn?
>>18244238>Democrat territory todayBruh it's been Democrat for almost 100 years, Virginia being Republican was a brief stint if anything
>>18244285Because this is a map of the United Colonies, not just British colonies in NA. Nova Scotia and Quebec were also British like Florida but aren't included for that same reason. Delaware was semi-autonomous. They had the same governor but a different legislature and were considered their own colony even though they weren't entirely.
>>18244216I wouldn't say an afterthought, sidekick rather.> The Hero Virginia>The LancerMassachusetts>The Smart GuyNew York>The HeartPennsylvaniaThe other colonies were just side characters though
>>18244302It used to be Dixiecrat, then those guys became Republicans, and now they've been replaced by rootless bugmen
>>18244509I'm quite fond of georgia. I will finish what Oglethorpe started
>>18244509>Massachusetts>not the smart guythis anon ain't wicket smaht
>>18244143Massachusetts was the most developed, Virginia the best economy,
>>18244143Pennsylvania.
>>18244254No they’re not. Their intentions are good, but they end up making things worse. Unless you’re talking like 1930s/1940s democrats.
>>18244143Probably virginia>>18244147didn't someone want to add a clause banning both president and vp from being from the same state or making it so someone can't run if they're from the same state as the previous president over virginia seethe?
>>18244238>Too bad it's Democrat territoryno even. if you pull up a map the only part of virginia that's consistently blue are the DC suburbs. it's literally all federal workers and lobbyists
>>18244254>Democrats are okay on econ issuesdems are pro h1b, free trade and outsourcing so not really >>18244285>What's with this map? Florida was a colony like Georgia at the time,Florida was a spanish colony until based andrew jackson illegally took it. The treaty is even funnier because the deal was >ok you can have florida if you give up your claim on texas>sure thing, pabloand then we immediately stole texas too because what's pablo gunna do about it?
>>18246042Florida was British in 1775
>>18246080bongolia only gained control of florida in 1763 so idk how many bongs were there and if it was just red coats or if it was like canada or if their settlements were just too far south for anyone to care. bongolia then gave spain florida back in the treaty that ended the revolution and then Andrew Jackson invaded Florida and took it from spain under the guise of >I'm just here to kill indians
>>18246085Guise? It was the truth. He absolutely wanted to kill them. Killing Indians and making them suffer was his passion, raison d'etre even. Nobody gave a shit about Florida before the invention of AC, because it's a hot ass humid swamp full of gators. It was all army and seminoles most of its history.
>>18244509New York was effectively a traitor during the revolution.
>>18244143I genuinely believe it was New York—and still is. New York City has long been the largest hub of intellectuals, scientists, and artists in North America.
>>18246119The revolutionaries were the traitors. They betrayed their king and suckled the teats of France, the great devil.
>>18246128It was Virginia but you didn't even mention what made New York big: commerce.
>>18245751are you retarded or mentally challenged?the lancer is always smarter than the "smart guy"NY is the smart guy because it was the financial center
>>18244143>strongestSouthern colonies (future CSA)
>>18246135they btfo'd bongolian oppressors
>>18246128>>18246136Was NY even the biggest harbor in 1775? They didn't build the erie canal until after the war
