Was he the worst president foe the middle class in America?

He's in hell waiting for heaven to trickle down on him

He was an excellent president, spiritually and emotionally, which (in the end) is pretty much the only thing that any president has to work with.

It's easy to look back now 40+ years later and judge; but those not alive at the time don't realize how screwed up things were by the time Jimmy Carter became president. Among the problems include:
> American soldiers being spit on and harassed by American citizens in American cities
> Iran holding our people hostage, and mocking the US every day because of it
> Interest rates so high that a mortgage would cost you 21.5% in interest
> Trust in America going down fast, and the sitting American president blaming the American people (instead of himself) for everything that was wrong

And then Reagan came along and told us that it was OK to be American, and that (dog-gone-it) America was still a place to be proud of. His spiritual optimism was enough to lift the country out of its malaise; and to kick itself in the ass and get back to business

Not really, but overseeing the transition into hyper-shareholder primacy where it's normal for Jack Welch to just fire 10% of his employees every year definitely puts him up there.

No. The proportion of wealth held by the middle class increased during his presidency.
