Do you think Alexander could have conquered India?China?Europe? We live in the cursed timeline where he didnt forge a global empire by the time he was 50.
Bump
No. He failed long before he died, because his army of Macedonians practically demanded that the campaign should end.Alexander eventually relented to the demand and returned to Babylon where he remained and ultimately died.Alexander carved out a great empire because he took down the Perisan empire, which left a massive power-vacuum of vast areas of land that could easily be conquered. By the time he entered the Indian subcontinent, he was again facing sophisticated centralized states that could offer real resistance, and that's where his soldiers said "enough".
>>18249617Yes, Alexander the Great (PBUH) would've finished forming his GRECO-PERSIAN-ARABIAN-INDIAN-CHINESE EMPIRE has he not been poisoned by his cowardly generals who tired of fighting (then proceeded to continue fighting one another for generations to come). We would've been in space by 300 AA (AFTER ALEXANDER). Imagine the news of Alexander hearing for the Americas, he would've assumed the gods placed these new lands there specifically for him.>>18249809He was already introducing Persians into the army. He would've been fine.
>>18249878We must rebuild him so he can conquer the world
>>18249878>mfw I will never fight for Alexander in a jungle of pikes reinforced by dudes from 'round the world steamrolling India &China like a chad
>>18249617It's hard to conquer places when your entire army is collectively mutinying. Now, he was planning to go west next, after Carthage and likely Italy. There'a little to really stop him (Carthage couldn't match the ship production of Phoenicia and Greece, Italy wasn't unified), although the Italian style of fighting and the Italians' (not just Roman) excessive armour would've resulted in higher casualties than he was used to.Once he dies, the western diadochi do exactly like the eastern diadochi. This does retard Italy's development, however, which leads to a power vaccum as the Germans start expanding into Gaul.Germanic Gaul, Italy is thoroughly Grekofied, who knows where it goes from there.
>>18249617I am more interested to wonder if he lived longer and his dynasty survived that maybe he would had been deified and become the God of actually religion, the state religion of the Argevin Empire: akin to Sigmar in Warhammer
>>18250420Considering the places he was going for were related to Mithra, I believe he had a spiritual calling that he needed to fulfill with his lover Hephaestion.
>>18249617>Do you think Alexander could have conquered India?Yes, the Nanda empire collapsed shortly after Alexander turned back. I think the Greeks mistakenly focused on the military strength of India at the time instead of its political situation. Perhaps the Indians of that time would have welcomed Alexander as a liberator.
>>18250420He was declared a god in the diadochi states
>>18250409>>18250036Imagine all the Alexander named cities.
>>18250419> >>18251361Thats why it'd be the Alexandrian Empire. All cities would be renamed to Alexandria and the Empire would have to invent ZIP CODES OR FUCKING AREA CODES to distinguish cities from each other. this leads to Alexandria-9, Alexandria-12 and even Alexandria-23 all the way up to Alexandria-999 and beyond. The establishment of ZIP CODES enables to the Alexandrian-state government to administrate more effectively leading to the development of steam engines, anime and space travel.
>>18251401Alexander will become the world and I will plant my flag between his buttcheeks.
>>18250420He was becoming a egomaniac by the end of his days & bought into his mother's stories of him being a demi-god so this was already the case technically just not as fleshed out or just carried out for more than a few years really.
Of course, there's the wildcard of him being an alcoholic by the time he was back in Babylon. His success also relied heavily on Philip's old guard. His own appointments were all incompetent and corrupt who kept fucking up and being forgiven (whereas Alexander thought little about occasionally murdering Philip's old guard). He can campaign, but his empire will crumble. Some parts of Anatolia already went independent while he was still alive. And eventually, his alcohol habits will catch up with him. That's the day he'll lose.Alexander's legend benefitted incredibly from his early death. Had he lived, the next two or three decades wouldn't have been pretty.Honestly, the hypotheses about his being poisoned by his companions aren't without merit. He was demonstrably a threat to their lives, he kept sidelining them for his incompetent cronies, he kept forcing oriental customs upon them and forced miscegenation. Not hard to see why some of his companions would think 'Let's end this before it's too late'.And it's telling his entire family went extinct shortly after his own death.
>>18250419>Now, he was planning to go west next, after Carthage and likely Italy.no he wasn't he was planning an invasion of arabia when he died
>>18250987>>18252093Yes but by dying early and his dynasty dying there were no more reasons to further develop a religion centered about Alexander as a God. If his empire lasted and his dynasty survived i can see this cult becoming the official universal state cult of the Empire
>>18249878>>18249617Remember that China wasn’t unify states? How would he handle campaign? Taking over strategic silk road (modern-day xinjiang/east turkestan)
