Westerners are used to religion without works, if in fact they are Christians in the first place, they are used to believing in God and just leaving it at that. Westerners enjoy believing in God and still indulging in fun and enjoyment, believing that works are not required to enter the Garden, or that works are simply too much effort to keep up with given the demands of modern life on the body and mind.This is absolutely off the table for Muslims. There is no such thing as "non practicing" in Islam. Works are everything. In fact, the one who abandons the prayer and never prays is considered a kaffir by consensus. Muslims are MUCH more devout and chained to religious works than even Jews. Everything in Islam is centred around relentless piety and worship. Even the Muslim festivals of Eid are centred around worship and more and more and more prayer, entire evenings and nights spent in prayer until you collapse from lack of sleep.For Westerners, festivals like Christmas, New Year are a time to indulge and let loose and have some fun. Even devout Christians accept these festivals as "chill out time" while still incorporating faith into them. But the Muslim festivals don't have "fun", they are entirely focused on praying and praying and praying and reading Qu'ran. For Westerners, Church attendance even on Sunday is entirely voluntary but for Muslims mosque attendance is mandatory. If any Muslim refuses to attend Friday prayers without a serious medical reason Allah seals his heart shut.There is simply too much required from the average Westerner to commit to Islam beyond a surface level label of "I'm a Muslim". Pure religious commitment for the average White or Black Westerner is something very taxing and causes burnout and they may even leave Islam because they feel less of a Muslim.
I have never seen a muslim or a mosque community do any charitable events or feed the poor or anything, they just isolate themselves interacting with nobody and probably seethe talking about murdering me for being a filfthy kuffar or something.
