The geography argument is bullshit, Iran was conquered multiple times by central Asians, ottomans conquered west Iran multiple times which was more mountainous than the rest of Iran

Because the Safavids were a relatively centralized and cohesive polity compared to the various feudal kingdoms, tribal confederations and declining empires the Ottomans had to face, the exception being Hungary
