1. The population of greece is way smaller than turkey. It was only a matter of time before they brought that into account. 2. The turks were much better united and had a more proffensionsal better equipped army. 3. Also, the british gave instabul back to the turks bc it had a HUGE population of Muslims and they couldn't give that to the greeks. And the turks agreed to be neutral and keep the straits opened at all costs.
There are more Turks in Istanbul alone than there are Greeks on Earth.
