I was reading Ceasar's the Gallic war recently and there was an interesting section claiming that the Brits had multiple men marry and have sex with one woman. The commentary is a bit vague on whether they believe such a practice actually existed, and if it did it was to manage population before agriculture. Was this a real historical practice both in Britain and anywhere else?
