As a Baptized Russian orthodox, I have to say, that it's incredibly hard (at least for me) to find any point of connection, beside the general christian appeal (community/tradition) and aesthetic. I was a fucking monarchist too lol, but after the war, and seeing what Russian culture is really... There is nothing Russian about Russian culture today, just like there is nothing orthodox about russian orthodox church. the only thing that brings me back to the orthodoxy is not "FIGHT THE LEFT" or even anti-communist believes.No matter how hard I cope It's a part of my identity, and only thing I can do is either try to accept it, or to abandon. There is genuinely a lot to learn about the orthodox view, but it's not a different skin for your christian crusader knight (or maybe it is, idk).
