How did Airstrip One become the most loyal golem of the American Imperivm?

The day you decided to stop shitting your pants

They had absolutely no hope of containing the Soviets on their own. Nobody in Europe trusted Britain to lead the anti-Communist bloc, and they didn't have the means to do it in any case, especially not right after the war. They desperately needed America to step up and lead the western world. So they abased themselves and did everything America asked them to, in order to secure America's commitment to the project Britain had worked for.

>Make sure the USSR defeats your enemies in Europe
>Sell yourself out to America because now you're too weak to defeat the USSR on your own
Literally what was the master plan here

The USSR was not an enemy of Nazi Germany at the outset of the war. Britain entered the war against Nazi Germany while there was a pact between Hitler and Stalin, remember. So they were siding against both, essentially, until Hitler betrayed the pact turning the USSR into an ally of convenience. By that point, the war against the Nazis had become so desperate for Britain that they were willing even to extend help to the communists if it gave them a shot at beating Hitler. They didn't have the luxury of being overly choosy about allies at the time.

Also it's not as though Britain planned on being materially exhausted by the war and unable to mount any resistance to communist domination. That's just how the war shook out for them. It left them critically weakened, and the only ally they could turn to was the United States.

They 100% knew Hitler and Stalin would eventually fight each other though, which is why they chose to only declare war on one of the two, the one they saw as the more immediate threat. But in doing so all they did was facilitate the rise of a larger, long term threat which required them to sell away their sovereignty to America

England was simply reacting to immediate stimuli and had no long term plan to survive as a civilization

lol, if they had a crystal ball, why not use it to precisely bomb the locations they "knew" the Nazis would be located at, instead of resorting to costly, desperate night raids that wasted munitions on civilian infrastructure?

Politicians in the UK were slow to react to their economic rivals. On paper the empire was so good, such a big market. The fact America and Germany were fast catching up seemed like a problem for later. The time when they could've turned it all around, late 19th century, they were more concerned with the question of Irish home rule than anything else. The elite simply did not think they were in danger of being replaced as top dog until it was too late. After WW1 they were faced with this: compete with America who just bailed us out of a long and costly war, and probably lose the competition, or try to manage our decline as best as possible by creating international institutions and holding on for as much as they could for as long as they could. Given that this was their goal, they didn't do too bad of a job.

Because there were white children that needed to be killed, and no wise puppet of finance will ever forsake their sacred duty to ensure that gentile children are being bombed somewhere.

They had the chance of allying themselves with the USSR from the beginning but they didn't trust them at all and their talks were always slow and inconclusive. The USSR was above everything else scared of Germany.
