Was he the most successful LARPer ever?
Not really. Nothing he did was aspirational. He sacrificed an Aryan enclave in North Africa, who settled there for longer than the entire history of Israel for temporary political gain. The only good thing he did was set up the French presidential system by making it similar to a monarchy.
>>18260344>He sacrificed an Aryan enclave in North Africa.Italians and Iberians aren't Aryan at all. The majority of Pied Noirs weren't even French. Just poor Non-French who moved abroad to wagey abroad. It never truly was legit
>>18260366A lot of Germans settled there too though.
>>18260374And it was still was a total meme.
I don't mind the French leaving and the European Algerians having to share power with the Muslim natives. However, if the Pied Noirs were to be expelled, then Oran should have been kept as part of France, like Ceuta is still part of Spain. It makes no sense what happened to Oran.
>>18260375The entire Aryan race has become a meme after Germany's defeat in 1945. We became an Anti-version of ourselves to morally oppose the Germans.
>>18260377>the European Algerians having to share power with the Muslim natives. Why would they (the Pied Noir) share power with the help? You do know they almost assassinated the guy in the OP right?>However, if the Pied Noirs were to be expelled, then Oran should have been kept as part of FranceCutting out parts of a state and handing the leftovers as a Bantustan of sorts would be immensely frowned upon by many states and the UN. Portugal tries to suggest that with a "cut EVERY urban area out as a Portugese en/exclaves" strat with Mozambique.
>>18260377>It makes no sense what happened to Oran.Because Spain was the only one to fight the United Nations' Committee on Decolonization, which statements were just bullshit and basically made by the Americans and the Soviets to weaken the rest of the European countries. In other conditions France should have kept Oran and Dakar, and Portugal should have kept Lourenço Marques, Cabinda and Cabo Verde
>>18260409>France should have kept Oran and DakarPeak entitlement.>Portugal should have kept Lourenço Marques, Cabinda and Cabo VerdeEven more peak entitlement and Cabo Verde wanted to split due to literal centuries of neglect from Portugal.
>>18260409One thing is France keeping one city that is across the sea. Another thing completely different would be Portugal keeping a city that is in another different ocean and hemisphere
>>18260344>>18260377>>18260392>>18260409De Gaulle's plan was to cut all ties with former colonies to prevent mass movements of population between Africa and France and the ethnic replacement of French people. That's why he promptly gave independence to all African colonies in 1960.And that why he gave independence to Algeria in 1962 (he had to take a bit longer with this one due to the ongoing war and the fact it was a settler colony) despite the military failure of the FLN that didn't control a single city or town at the moment of the armistice.
>>18260415The thing is Oran is a major ports city and the 2nd most populated city. If that got sectioned out that would basically be losing a leg.
>>18260418>De Gaulle's plan was to cut all ties with former colonies to prevent mass movements of population between Africa and France and the ethnic replacement of French people. That doesn't make any sense and has been proven decisively wrong by history. The only thing that allows or forbids mass migration is the will of the country. Absolutely nothing else.
>>18260344De Gaulle ensured Nukes for France based on sheer Aura
>>18260492De Gaulle did his best to prevent mass immigration with the tools he had.Obviously his successors made his effort useless.
>>18260418>>18260415>That's why he promptly gave independence to all African colonies in 1960.>keeping a city that is in another different ocean and hemisphereYet De Gaulle kept French Guiana as an integral part of France. Curious.>and Cabo Verde wanted to split due to literal centuries of neglect from Portugal. They wanted representation which Portugal could have given them considering they were just a few thousanh people tops. And Cabo Verde was virgin land when the Portuguese discovered it, as opposed to the Canary Islands, which were already populated by natives, yet Spain kept those to this day.
>>18260500France is a natural Great Power, so that really is nothing special. Now if you compare France to FRG he seems like something special, because West Germany also is a natural Great Power, but has a political system, which intentionally retards it. But that has nothing to do with de Gaulle's greatness, but Germany's temporary cucked status after WW2.>>18260501>De Gaulle did his best to prevent mass immigration with the tools he had.He didn't though. He could have restricted citizenship to Whites only, which he didn't. Therefore he failed.
>>18260508>They wanted representation which Portugal could have given them considering they were just a few thousanh people topsBut it didn't and it refused too lol. The VV diaspora is MASSIVE because the island was so poor and neglected with little sources of fresh water that it was either stay and starve or leave and immigrate abroad to places like North America as sailors and fishermen.>Cabo Verde was virgin land when the Portuguese discovered it, as opposed to the Canary Island. And than the crown proceeded to just let it rot after slave exhortation outaide Africa got cucked by naval blockades.
